High end camera observation Het Zand Zwolle We have started work on a project at Healthcare center Zorgspectrum Het Zand. The most pressing issues were the increasing theft and the harassment the employees have to deal with, mostly during the night shifts. We were asked to provide a high end camera observation solution. We chose to install the IP video observation consisting of fixed, flexi-dome and auto-dome IP cameras combined with DIVAR from Bosch at the location of De Oude Mars and De Berghorst. This solution consists of cameras which offer a combined result of detection, trigger and recording. The footage can be watched on a computer screen but also on Ipods, if required. The biggest challenge was the implementation of the virtual trigger of the auto-dome camera in the wooded surrounding public area. The auto-dome cameras need to start following and recording the person or object in question when triggered (by a flexi-dome, fixed or auto-dome camera). During the absence of triggers the auto-dome camera follows a surveillance tour consisting of several pre-defined positions. To prevent the cameras from being activated needlessly or regarding privacy issues, we use masking of the camera images. This project was a good example of collaboration between several parties, in this case Jeroen Hees van HeesAdvies, Het Zand, Unica and NEH ICT Solutions. Even though the project is not entirely completed yet, we received feedback from our client that the system has already proven its use. The cameras detected a couple of suspects trying to steal a bike and the tapes were handed over to the Police for further investigation. Tyco internal newsletter april 2014
