There is an urgent need of rapid transnational detection and response, improved international cooperation and integration of surveillance, and response systems. This symposium will highlight the challenges for EU regions – including differences in legislation, medical infrastructure and culture – and discuss shared solutions such as euregional protocols for public health and hospitals or real-time cross-border dashboards.
