Informatie lezing Raymond van de Berg
Raymond van de Berg is als KNO arts verbonden aan Maastricht University Medical Centre en
vestibuloloog (evenwichtssysteemkundige). Hij is expert op het gebied van de vestibulair implant.
Raymond van de Berg was born on September 5th 1984 in Geldrop, The Netherlands. He studied
Medicine at the University of Maastricht from 2002 until 2008. Directly after graduation his residency in
Rhino-otolaryngology started at the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery in
Maastricht, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. B. Kremer. Already from the beginning, the vestibular
system drew his attention and analogous to his residency, he started his PhD-project on the vestibular
implant with Prof. Dr. H. Kingma and Prof. Dr. R. Stokroos as his tutors. He currently works as an
ENG-surgeon at Maastricht University Medical Center, with a special interest in vestibular disorders.
De lezing wordt een korte introductie in het evenwichtssysteem, de beperkingen van het
evenwichtssysteem, ziektebeelden en de eventueel voorhanden zijnde behandelingen ervan. Wat
doet een niet functionerend evenwichtssysteem met een mens? Hoe kan de fysiotherapeut hierop
inspelen?
