(New York, US) Studio Alfons Hooikaas (Amsterdam, Netherlands) 2012 — ongoing 2005 — 2013 2x4 is a global design consultancy headquartered in New York City with satellite studios in Beijing and Madrid. My job is in a larger branding team with the creative director and partners and has an emphasis on idea-development for brand and design strategies for cultural and commercial clients. Additionally I started working with the environmental team to implement these brand strategies in 3d space. This results in projects ranging from brand identities to highly visual environmental graphics and motion design. www.2x4.org Studio Alfons Hooikaas worked in various collaborations. At its peak moment, the studio had 2 frequent freelancers working on projects. Important cultural and commercial clients during this period include Centraal Museum Utrecht, Van Abbe Museum, Rialto Cinema, Karl Lagerfeld Jeans and University Delft. Main focus of the studio was on the strategic integration of information, identity and interaction into strong visual solutions. Print, Interactive, Environmental and Editorial design was produced. www.hooikaas.com Maureen Mooren & Daniël van der Velden (Amsterdam, Netherlands). 2004 — 2006 Freelance design working on Archis magazine, Volume magazine, and Holland Festival identity. www.maureenmooren.nl, metahaven.net Nick Bell Design (London, UK). 2003 — 2004 Design internship working on exhibition design for the Churchill exhibition at the Cabinet War rooms, exhibition design for The House of Parliament London, Eye magazine and various books. nickbelldesign.co.uk Education 2000 — 2004 1999 — 2000 1998 — 1999 1990 — 1998 BA Graphic Design, Academy for the Arts Arnhem University of Amsterdam, architecture & journalism Honored student at CMC, Co, USA Gymnasium, PWA College Leerdam 1/2 Alfons Hooikaas 2/2 Resumé Clients selection 2x4 inc. – Moma PS1 – Prada – MiuMiu – Fondazione Prada – Qatar Museum Authority – Siam Center, Bangkok – Doha Tribecca Film Festival – Nike – Center For The Living Arts, Mobile Alabama – Perez Art Museum Miami Studio Alfons Hooikaas – Karl Lagerfeld Jeans – Provincie Noord–Holland – Vereniging Deltametropool, Tu Delft & Ministry of Infrastructure – Centraal Museum Utrecht – Van Abbe Museum – De Appel Arts Centre, Curatorial Training Program – Premsela Stichting voor Nederlandse vormgeving – Fonds BKVB Amsterdam – Koninklijke prijs voor de vrije schilderkunst – Archiprix, 010 Publishers – Veenman Publishers – Jan van Eijck Academy – ArtEZ Institute of the arts – St. Joost Academy of Fine Arts – Peter Greenaway Maureen Mooren & Daniël van der Velden – Holland Festival – Jonathan Monk – Archis magazine – Volume Magazine Nick Bell Design – Eye magazine – Tate Publishing, Tate Modern – Imperial War museum Exhibitions selection Publications selection – “Graphic design festival” (Breda, Netherlands). – “Stip 2010”, new art in the Netherlands - Festival international de l’affiche de Chaumont. – FBKVB, Stipend overview 2006 t/m 2009. – “Stip 2010”, new art in the Netherlands – GRAPHIC, Hit and Run Young Studios.
