Op vrijdag 10 oktober 2014 is het centrum van Utrecht het decor van een training van 1 Civiel en
Militaire Interactiecommando van de Koninklijke Landmacht. Civiel-Militaire specialisten trainen
dan hun gespreksvaardigheden via interviews in de stad. De deelnemers doen dit aan de hand van
een verzonnen scenario waarbij het stadscentrum voor de gelegenheid dienst doet als buitenlands
missiegebied.

De Utrechtse middenstand, ondernemingen en (lokale) instanties werken mee aan de oefening als
rollenspeler. Aan de hand van het scenario heeft elke rollenspeler zijn of haar verhaal te vertellen aan
de militairen. Die specialisten maken op basis van deze verhalen een analyse van de civiele situatie en
bereiden vervolgens een advies voor aan de militaire commandant.

De deelnemers verplaatsen zich op 10 oktober 2014 in kleine missieteams te voet, op de fiets of met
het openbaar vervoer door de stad Utrecht. Voor de oefening worden geen zware militaire voertuigen
gebruikt. Ook dragen de militairen geen wapens.

De specialisten van 1 CMI Commando steunen de militaire commandant in het adequaat omgaan met
civiele partijen, overheden en humanitaire organisaties in een missiegebied. De eenheid bestaat voor
het grootste deel uit reservisten die beschikken over civiele expertise.

On Friday 10 October, the centre of Utrecht will form the backdrop for a training exercise of 1 Civil

their interviewing skills in the city. The exercise will involve a fictional scenario in which the city centre
will serve as a mission area in a foreign country.
