Travelling to and from Schiermonnikoog
Schiermonnikoog is an island in the North of the Netherlands and it can only be reached by ferry departing from Lauwersoog. On Sunday November 23th the boat departs
from Lauwersoog at 15:30h. The crossing takes approx. 45 minutes.
On the island, there is a free shuttle bus service between harbour and the hotel. (Look for the blue bus with Hotel van der Werff on the side). Cars are not admitted on the
island! More information about Schiermonnikoog can be found at www.schiermonnikoog.net (Dutch).
On Friday November 28th the boat departs Schiermonnikoog harbour at 15.30h.

By Car
Schiermonnikoog can be reached by train, bus and boat
from Schiphol. A typical itinerary is given on the next
page.
A routeplanner can be found on the Wagenborg website
(ferry): www.wpd.nl. The postal code for the departure
terminal is 9976 VM. Please note that cars are not
allowed on the island. Cars can be parked in the
overnight parking lot at the harbor.
On Sunday November 23th, bus nr. 50 (Arriva) departs
from Leeuwarden to Lauwersoog at 14:05h (option 1).
Also on Sunday November 23th, bus 163 (Qbuzz) departs
from Groningen to Lauwersoog at 14:21h (option 2).
On Friday November 28th, bus nr. 50 (Arriva) from
Lauwersoog arrives at 18:23h at Leeuwarden (option 1).
Also on Friday November 28th, bus nr. 163 (Qbuzz) from
Lauwersoog arrives at 18:22h at Groningen (option 2).

to reach Schiermonnikoog by public transportation from
anywhere in the Netherlands.
