organization
De brandbestrijdingsorganisatie moet vóór de opstart, medio
oktober, ready en operationeel zijn. Binnen deze organisatie
zullen operators verschillende rollen vervullen waarvoor zij
momenteel worden opgeleid. De training wordt verzorgd door
Falck Risc uit Nederland die een internationaal gecertificeerd
programma heeft samengesteld volgens NFPA standaarden in
de olie-industrie.
Recent zijn 8 operators getraind tot “Incident Commander”,
zodat zij leiding kunnen geven aan de hele organisatie bij
brandbestrijdingen. Tevens zijn er 24 operators opgeleid tot
“Team leader” die een ploeg van een 4- tal brandweermannen
aansturen tijdens de brand. Deze trainingen zijn met succes
afgerond in Nederland waarbij samen echte industriële branden
moesten worden geblust op een oefenlocatie.
De overige operators worden de komende tijd in Suriname
getraind tot brandweerman. Hiervoor zal het ‘ Train the Trainer’
concept toegepast worden waarbij enkele Incident Commanders
de operators tot brandweerman zullen opleiden. Deze strategie
bespaart kosten en tijd en verhoogd de onafhankelijkheid bij
het trainen van de brandbestrijdings organisatie in de toekomst.
Ook enkele werknemers van het Korps Brandweer Suriname
participeren in de trainingen.
The firefighting organization should be ready and operational
before the startup, mid-October. Within this organization,
operators will have different roles for which they are currently
being trained. The training is provided by Falck Risc from
the Netherlands that has set up an international certification
program according to NFPA standards in the oil industry.
Recently, 8 operators were trained to “Incident Commander”
so that they can lead the entire organization during firefighting.
There are 24 operators trained as “Team leader” who will lead
a team of 4 fireman to control a fire. These courses have been
successfully completed in the Netherlands where together real
industrial fires had to be extinguished at a practice location.
In the coming period the remaining operators will be trained as
fireman in Suriname. For this the “Train the Trainer” concept
will be used in which several Incident Commanders will train
Operators to fireman. This strategy saves costs and time
and increases independence in the training of the firefighting
organization in the future. Also, some employees of the Fire
Department Suriname participate in the training.

Viering 5 miljoen veilige manuren zonder
LTI
Celebration 5 million safe man-hours without
LTI
Op vrijdag 18 juli werd de viering van 5 miljoen veilige manuren
zonder LTI ingeluid met brassband muziek. De toegestroomde
groep constructiewerkers genoot zichtbaar van dit stukje
entertainment en verdrong zich om alles van dichtbij te kunnen
meemaken. Zoals gebruikelijk sprak het management de
aanwezigen bemoedigend toe.
In totaal kregen 23 contractors een certificaat uitgereikt en aan
de 30 Best Safety Performers werd een award en waardebon
gegeven als dank voor hun bijdrage aan deze mijlpaal.
De 5 miljoen veilige manuren zonder LTI werd bereikt op
maandag 14 juli 2014. De vorige mijlpaal was op 21 mei.
On Friday, July 18th celebration of five million safe man-hours
without LTI was kicked off with brass band music. The gathered
group of construction workers visibly enjoyed this entertainment
trying to witness everything up close. As usual the management
encouragingly addressed the crowd in their speeches.
A total of 23 contractors were awarded a certificate and the
30 Best Safety Performers received an award and voucher as
thanks for their contribution to this milestone.
The 5 million safe man-hours without LTI was reached on
Monday, July 14th. The previous milestone was on 21st of May.

Hydrocracker reactor procedure gevalideerd via

Hydrocracker reactor procedure validated by
safety drill
“De Hydro cracker reactor is het belangrijkste equipment in het
dieselproces, maar ook ‘speciaal’, omdat die onder zulke hoge
druk en temperaturen functioneert’’, vertelt Hora Siertsema,
Construction Superintendent van de Hydro cracker unit. Door
licentiehouder, CLG (Chevron) die de reactor heeft ontwikkeld,
is een extra controle ingebouwd alvorens toestemming wordt
verleend voor het gebruik. Om deze controle uit te kunnen
voeren moet de reactor qua veiligheid voldoen aan bepaalde
voorwaarden. Deze veiligheidsvoorwaarden zijn vervat in een
procedure. Op 17 juli is deze procedure op werkbaarheid getest
met het scenario dat iemand zich in de reactor bevindt en er iets
fout mocht gaan. Hierbij is de 50 meter hoge reactor beklommen,
waarna via de enige ingang op de top, eerst een pop op een
brancard in werd neergelaten. Hierna volgde een test met een
‘echte’ getrainde veiligheidsman. “Na afloop is geconcludeerd
dat de procedure op enkele kleine aanpassingen na, voldoet”,
zegt Siertsema. De drill werd uitgevoerd door contractor IRSIC
onder supervisie van Saipem, terwijl Staatsolie hierbij getuige
was. Eind augustus wordt de licentiehouder in Suriname
verwacht.

licensor CLG (Chevron) that developed the reactor, an extra
checkup was built in, before approval is granted for use. To
perform this checkup, the reactor must first meet certain safety
requirements. These safety requirements are contained in a
procedure. On July 17, this procedure was tested for validation
in the scenario that someone is in the reactor and something
goes wrong. The 50 meter high reactor was climbed up, after
which via the only entrance on top, first a doll on a stretcher was
lowered. Following was a real ‘trained’ HSE officer. “After the
drill it was concluded that the procedure, apart from some minor
adjustments, was valid,” says Siertsema. The drill was carried
out by contractor IRSIC under the supervision of Saipem, while
Staatsolie witnessed. In late August, the licensor is expected in
Suriname.
