Geachte leden van de Schoolcouncil,
De Raad van Bestuur Maastricht UMC+ heeft voor 2014 middelen ter beschikking gesteld
voor talentontwikkeling onder jong wetenschappelijk talent. Deze middelen worden
ingezet ten behoeve van de beurs “Kootstra Talent Fellowship”.
In 2014 zullen twee rondes plaatsvinden. De sluitingsdata voor het indienen van
aanvragen zijn respectievelijk 1 april en 1 oktober. Om in aanmerking te komen voor
het ‘Kootstra Talent Fellowship’ kunnen de principle investigators van de Schools een
verzoek (bij voorkeur per email), conform het aanvraagformulier in de bijlage, richten
aan de heer M. Berndes, Beleidsmedewerker FHML en Secretaris Wetenschapscommissie
Maastricht UMC+, ([email protected])
Voor deze call dienen de aanvragen vooraf ter advies bij de wetenschapscommissie
ingediend te worden op uiterlijk maandag 10 maart bij Daniel Kotz
([email protected]), secretaris van de wetenschapscommissie. De
wetenschapscommissie kijkt niet naar projectideeën of aanvragen die slechts ten dele
zijn uitgewerkt. Niet door de wetenschapscommissie beoordeelde aanvragen zullen niet
worden ondersteund door de CAPHRI directie.
Daarnaast is er goedkeuring van de CAPHRI directie vereist t.a.v. de financiële matching.
De financiële matching zal uit de programma’s gefinancierd moeten worden. Enkel
programma’s met voldoende ABR rekening houdend met toekomstige verplichtingen
zullen een garantie kunnen afgeven. Controleer voor het opzetten van de aanvraag bij de
projectbeheerders Sabina Bulic / Erie van de Heuvel of er voldoende financiële ruimte
aanwezig is voor de matching. Uiterlijk donderdag 27 maart ontvangen wij graag de
garantiestelling vanuit het programma voor de in te dienen aanvraag, waarna bij
voldoende financiële ruimte en een door de wetenschapscommissie beoordeelde
aanvraag de CAPHRI directie zal instemmen met de aanvraag.

Dear members of the schoolcouncil,
The Executive Board of the Maastricht UMC+ has means available in 2014 to develop
talent amongst young scientific researchers. These means have been invested in the socalled “Kootstra-Talent Fellowship Programme’’.
In 2014 there will be two calls. The deadlines for application are April 1st and October
1st. To apply for admission to the ‘Kootstra Talent Fellowship’-programme, the principle
investigators of the Schools are invited to submit an application (preferably by mail) to
mister M. Berndes, Policy Advisor FHML and Secretary Maastricht UMC+ Research
Committee, ([email protected]).
For the coming call applications need to be submitted for advice to Daniel Kotz
([email protected]), secretary of the Scientific Committe no later than by
Monday, March 10th. Only well-elaborated applications will be reviewed by the Scientific
Committee and applications that have not been reviewed will not be supported by the
CAPHRI management.
In addition, the matching that is required has to be financed by the specific CAPHRI
research programme. No later than Thursday, March 27th the matching guarantee of
the programme need to be received by either Sabina Bulic or Erie van den Heuvel. Only
programmes with sufficient financial means (anticipating future financial commitments as
well) and a review of the Scientific Committee will be given an official CAPHRI guarantee.
Please check before submission to the Scientific Committee with either Sabina Bulic or
Erie van den Heuvel whether there is sufficient financial reserve within the programme.
