Dit technisch document gaat over Shamal Mille wielen en de remblokken die hierbij gebruikt
moeten worden. Door de “Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation treatment” zijn deze anders dan bij de
andere aluminium of carbon wielen.
In tegenstelling tot eerdere communicatie, wordt voorgeschreven om geen rode remblokken te
gebruiken, daar het verschil qua remprestaties bij droge en natte omstandigheden te verschillend is.
Wanneer men veel druk op de remhevel plaatst bij natte omstandigheden en de velg droogt, gaan de
rode remblokken plots zeer krachtig remmen. Dit kan een onverwachte blokkering van het wiel
veroorzaken.

Dit is de reden waarom ENKEL BLAUWE REMBLOKKEN mogen gebruikt worden. Hierbij zal de
remprestatie bij de overgang van natte naar droge omstandigheden gelijkmatiger verlopen.

De remprestaties van deze nieuwe remloken in combinatie met de “Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation
treatment” op de velg, zullen beter zijn dan een traditioneel aluminium wiel met normale
remblokken. Dit zorgt wel voor een snellere slijtage van de remblokken in vergelijking met
traditionele zwarte remblokken voor aluminium velgen.
De wielen op de markt zullen standaard met volgende remblokken worden geleverd:

Als de klant Campagnolo remmen heeft model 2015 (veloce of ongemerkt zoals wordt geleverd bij
de Athena), welke op de remschoen en fixatieschroef F bevatten,

zal de klant samen met het wiel, de BR-PEO500 remblokken krijgen, welke niet compatible zijn met
deze remmen. Men zal in dit geval de BR-PE500X kunnen gebruiken, welke wel compatible zijn.
Omdat de BR-PEO500 remblokken zijn niet compatibel met Campagnolo remblokhouders zonder de
borgveren, moeten de originele remblokhouders vervangen door de remblokhouder met borgveer
BR-SR040 (2R + 2L ) (zwart).
Hieronder is een tabel te vinden met alle velgen en de remblokken die men hierbij dient te
gebruiken.
