• 火山爆发原因--------地球内部充满着炽热的岩浆。在极大
的压力下,岩浆便会从薄弱的地方冲破地壳,喷涌而出,
造成火山爆发。
• 分类------ 火山可分活火山、死火山和休眠火山。前面讲
到的坦博拉火山和夏威夷群岛上的火山,现在还在活动,
这就是活火山。死火山是指史前有过活动,但历史上无喷
发记载的火山。我国境内的600多座火山,大都是死火山。
有些火山在历史上有过活动的记载,但后来一直没有活动,
这种火山就称作休眠火山。休眠火山可能会突然“醒来”,
成为活火山。
• 后果----- 猛烈的火山爆发会吞噬、摧毁大片土地,把大批
生命、财产烧为灰烬。可是令人惊讶的是,火山所在地往
往是人烟稠密的地区,日本的那须火山和富士火山周围就
是这样。原来,火山喷发出来的火山灰是很好的天然肥料,
富士山地区的桑树长得特别好,有利于养蚕业;维苏威火
山地区则盛产葡萄。火山地区景象奇特,往往成为旅游胜
地。
• 预报----在人类能够控制火山活动之前,加强预报是防止
火山灾害的唯一办法。科学家对火山爆发问题的研究,常
常得益于动、植物的某种突然变化。许多动物往往在火山
爆发之前就纷纷逃离远去,似乎知识大祸即将临头。印度
