“And because you are sons, God
has sent forth the Spirit of His

‘Abba, Father!’ ” (Galatians 4:6).
“Y por cuanto sois hijos, Dios
envió a vuestros corazones el
Espíritu de su Hijo, el cual clama:
¡Abba, Padre!” (Gálatas 4:6).
J
osé, María, Jesús y otros viajeros fue-
ron a Jerusalén a celebrar la fiesta de la Pascua.
Esta celebración se hacía cada año y duraba una
semana. Al llegar, los padres le dieron instrucciones a sus
hijos acerca del cuidado que debían tener. A los chicos de
doce años se les daba libertad pues eran enseñados desde
pequeños a comportarse correctamente, por eso, María y
José dejaron que Jesús anduviera libremente en Jerusalén.
La fiesta terminó, María y José se unieron a la caravana que
iba de regreso. Ya habían caminado un día cuando se dieron
cuenta que Jesús no iba con ellos y se preguntaron “¿Dónde
está Jesús?”.
Así que lo buscaron entre los conocidos y todo el grupo,
pero no lo hallaron y decidieron regresar. Al llegar a Jerusalén fueron al templo y lo encontraron conversando con
los doctores de la ley, los cuales estaban muy sorprendidos
por su inteligencia. María al verlo le dijo: “Hijo, ¿por qué
nos has hecho esto? tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con
angustia”. Jesús le respondió: “¿Por qué me buscan? ¿No
saben que debo estar en la casa de mi Padre?”. Era cierto,
Jesús estaba muy feliz en la casa de Dios; pero obedeció
y regresó con ellos. Jesús actuaba como hijo de Dios porque tenía la certeza absoluta de que Él era su Padre. ¿Y
tú tienes la seguridad que Dios es tu Padre celestial? (Narración basada en Lucas 2:40-52).

sus pecados y le han permitido que
entre a su corazón son hijos de Dios.
Si tienes a Jesús en tu corazón, cree
con certeza que Él es “tu Padre”, por lo
tanto, debes actuar como tal. Interésate
en conocer y aprender de Él, en su
Palabra, involúcrate en el servicio y
en las actividades del templo, en
obedecerlo y en conocer cuál
es su voluntad para ti.

oseph, Mary, Jesus
and other travelers
went to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of the Passover.
This celebration was held every year and lasted a week.
When they got there, the parents instructed their children
about how careful they had to be. Those who were twelve
years old had some freedom, as they had been taught to behave
properly from an early age. That is why Mary and Joseph let
Jesus walk freely around Jerusalem. When the feast was over,
Mary and Joseph joined the caravan back home. They had
already walked for a day when they realized that Jesus was
not with them and wandered where Jesus was.
So they looked for him among the whole group and did not
find him, so they decided to go back. When they arrived in
Jerusalem, they went to the temple and found him talking
with the teachers of the Law, who were amazed by his
intelligence. When Mary saw him, she said, “Son, why have
you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking
for you everywhere.” Jesus answered, “Why have you been
looking for me? Did you not know that I should be in my
Father’s house?” It was true, Jesus was happy in the house
of God; but he obeyed and returned with them. Jesus acted
like a son of God because he was absolutely sure that He was
his Father. Are you certain that God is your heavenly Father?

this to your life:
All those who have asked
Jesus to forgive their sins and
have allowed Him to enter their
hearts, are children of God. If you
have Jesus in your heart, rest assured
that He is “your Father”; therefore, you
should behave as such. Strive to know
and learn from Him, in His Word,
get involved in the service and the
activities in the temple, in obeying
Him, and knowing His will
for you.
