Tijana RADIVOJEVIC, Ph.D. Student- (FPU MECD 2012) in MSLMS-Modelling and Simulation in Life and Material Sciences Group
at BCAM, supervised by Prof. Elena AKHMATSKAYA and Prof. Enrico SCALAS, is participating at the 107th ESGI107 taking place
in the Alan Turing Building, home of the School of Mathematics at the University of Manchester, UK.
Since 1968, when the first edition was held in Oxford, ESGI gathers mathematicians and industrialists to work side by side to
identify and solve real problems that companies are facing today.
On the first day of the study group, representatives of the companies from diverse industries are presenting important problems
they are facing to and have a possibility to benefit from the insights gained through mathematical analysis of their problems. During
the following days mathematicians work jointly with the industrialists to brainstorm new ideas and potential practical solutions, which
are presented on the final day of the meeting. Each company will benefit from the work carried out by the participants, the
interaction with academics, and the written report on the problem.
Study groups have helped to facilitate excellent mathematical research and excellent improvements for industry.

Tijana RADIVOJEVIC, Ph.D. Student- (FPU MECD 2012) del grupo MSLMS-Modelling and Simulation in Life and Material Sciences
