2nd Vienna Breast Surgery Day

2nd Vienna Breast Surgery Day
Throughout the last century, oncoplastic surgery
has evolved substantially and spread globally.
These developments have vastly improved cosmetic results following both breast-conserving
surgery as well as mastectomy. In addition, we
also have a better grasp of the advantages and
disadvantages of each particular method, as well
as a deepened understanding of when each surgical method should be employed. The 2nd Vienna
Breast Surgery Day (VBSD) provides a summary
of the state of the art of current surgical methods
and future directions, as presented by leading experts in the field.

The armamentarium for oncoplastic surgery is
developing at a rapid pace. In fact, multiple techniques may even be utilized for the same case.
The final decision is ultimately based on the
surgeon’s experience, the location of the tumor,
the size of the breast, and the patient’s co-morbidities. At the 1st Vienna Breast Surgery Day in
2012, we invited you to take part in observing live
surgery. This year, we will present interesting and
exceptional cases on video, which we will then
discuss together.
