Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren!
Sehr geehrte Bürger der Republik Kasachstan!
Wir teilen Ihnen mit, dass am 26. April 2015 in Republik Kasachstan die
vorgezogene Präsidentschaftswahlen stattfinden werden.
In diesem Zusammenhang werden auf dem Territorium der Bundesrepublik
Deutschland 2 Wahllokale eröffnet:
1. Das Wahllokal № 197 bei der Botschaft der Republik Kasachstan in

Gemäß dem Artikel 38, Absatz 1 des Verfassungsgesetzes der Republik
Kasachstan „Über die Wahlen in der Republik Kasachstan“ ist die Zeit der
Abstimmung von 8.00 bis 20.00 der Ortszeit bestätigt.
Um die Anzahl der Bürger der Republik Kasachstan festzustellen, die in der
BRD mit Stimmrecht wohnhaft sind und an den Präsidentschaftswahlen
teilnehmen wollen, bitten wir Sie, sich bei einem der obengenannten Wahllokale
im Voraus registrieren zu lassen. Für die Teilnahme an der Abstimmung ist es
notwendig, den Reisepass der Republik Kasachstan mit dabei zu haben.
Zusätzlich informieren wir, dass Sie sich gemäß dem Artikel 26, Absatz 3
und Absatz 1, Punkt 2 des Wahlgesetzes in den Räumen der angegebenen
Wahllokale mit der Kandidatenliste zum Präsidenten der Republik Kasachstan
bekannt machen können.

ODIHR opened election observation mission in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The OSCE Office for
Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
opened an election observation mission in
Kazakhstan to monitor the early presidential
elections scheduled to be held on April 26, 2015.
As the press service head of the mission Cornelia
Jonker informed that the delegation of the Bureau
arrived in Kazakhstan at the invitation of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The
mission consists of 12 experts working in Astana and 30 long-term observers, who are expected
to be work countrywide starting March 31.
3 presidential candidates to kick off campaigns in Kazakhstan on March 26
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Three candidates
running for the Office of the President of the
Republic of Kazakhstan will kick off their
campaigns on March 26.
Recall that the Central Election Commission
registered three presidential candidates Nursultan Nazarbayev nominated by the Nur Otan
Party, Turgun Syzdykov nominated by the
Communist People's Party and self-nominated
candidate Abelgazy Kussainov.
They all successfully passed the state language proficiency exam and collected certain amount of
signatures of voters necessary to be eligible to run for the Office of the President.
Kazakhstan to cooperate with international observers in a constructive way Idrissov
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan intends to
cooperate with international observers within the
framework of the upcoming presidential elections
in a constructive way and reckons upon their
unbiased assessment of the outcome of the
elections, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the
country Erlan Idrissov said at the meeting with the
Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation
Mission Cornelia Jonker in Astana on Thursday.
Minister Idrissov briefed Ms. Jonker on the work done by the ministry on preparations for the
early presidential elections. He noted that Kazakhstan intends to hold transparent and fair
elections in accordance with the norms of national legislation and high international standards
and is interested in constructive cooperation with international observers.

Overview
Following consultations with the leaders of the Senate, the Mazhilis of the Parliament, Prime
Minister and the Chairman of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan, President Nursultan
Nazarbayev announced that early presidential elections will be held on 26 April 2015. Most
political parties, as well as 18 nation-wide public associations, have voiced their support for this
decision.
Timetable of the election
26 February – 15 March: Nomination of candidates
26 March – 24 April: Pre-election campaign of candidates
26 April 7 am – 26 April 8 pm: Voting takes place
Not later than 3 May: Results are announced

Kazakhstan’s electoral system
The 1995 Law on Elections has been amended and supplemented several times to make
elections more fair and free, with the latest minor change introduced in July 2014.
In 2009, Kazakhstan also adopted further legislation on mass media, elections, political
parties, and local government to align Kazakhstan’s laws with OSCE standards. The
legislative changes were drafted in close cooperation with NGOs, political parties and
OSCE institutions.

Observers
International and local observers have been invited to monitor the 2015 Presidential
elections. They will observe the opening of polling stations, voting, counting of ballots,
and the tabulation of results.
Observers will closely monitor campaign activities, the legislative framework and its
implementation, the media situation, the work of the election administration and relevant
state bodies, as well as the resolution of election disputes.
As in previous election observations, statements of preliminary findings and conclusions
will be issued on the day after the election, and reports on the observation of the entire
electoral process will be issued after the end of the observation missions.
Observers from OSCE, CIS, SCO, OIC, and other international organizations have been
invited.
International and domestic observers are registered in line with Kazakhstan’s legislation.
