ZYP BORON NITRIDE LUBRICOAT-ZV, ZYP BORON NITRIDE LUBRICOAT-BLUE-ZV EROSION RESISTANT, HIGHLY DILUTABLE BORON NITRIDE COATING IDEAL FOR METAL SURFACES ZYP Boron Nitride Lubricoat®ZV and Lubricoat-Blue ® -ZV coatings are non-wetting with molten nonferrous metals and formulated to allow dilution without degrading performance. Boron Nitride Lubricoat-ZV creates a hard, durable surface suitable for use with molten metal flow and components exposed to erosion and wear. LUBRICOAT-ZV Lubricoat-ZV comes as a standard white coating which can blend in with the normal colour of ceramic substrates. LUBRICOAT-BLUE-ZV Lubricoat-Blue-ZV is available for better visibility. The blue colour serves as a visual aid during the application process, assisting operators and supervisors to visually see where the coating has been applied by differentiating the blue colour from the white refractory substrate. It also serves as a wear indicator identifying when to recoat. WARNING: Never contact wet coating with molten metal. BENEFITS • Less prone to flash rusting • Corrosion resistant—protects surfaces from molten aluminium, magnesium and their drosses • Non-wetting—acts like Teflon® to molten metal • Protects ceramics, metals and graphite • Reduces maintenance and extends refractory life • Applies like house paint • Safe, water-based and no volatile organic compounds • Hard surface lasts longer • Contains no added fillers APPLICATIONS • Launders USE INSTRUCTIONS Application, either by dipping, air-spraying or brushing, can be used to obtain an optimal thickness of 50–100 microns. Spraying is typically the most accurate method for consistent thickness. The coating can be used full strength or diluted with water to a maximum of four parts water to one part coating. If diluting, the use of distilled or purified water is preferable. • Autopour ladles 1. Clean surfaces to be coated of oils, dirt, scale, etc. • Dross press heads 2. Mix thoroughly before use and occasionally during application to ensure consistent performance. • Tundishes and risers 3. For spraying or brushing, apply multiple thin coats for best performance. If dipping, drain excess coating to achieve optimal thickness. STORAGE • Keep container closed to avoid liquid evaporation/loss 4. Dry thoroughly before placing into service. Never contact wet coating with molten metal. 5. Lightly polishing or buffing of the dry coating with a clean cloth will aid in filling and smoothing the refractory pores and removal of excess coating. 6. Clean tools with water. • Tubes • Funnels and spouts • Filter bowls and boxes • Caster tips • Store at room temperature in the original container • Keep from freezing HEALTH AND SAFETY Prior to use, refer to the product safety data sheet for proper handling and required personal protective equipment.
