This document will cover the AORUS/CORSAIR DOTA 2 CLASH Tournament being hosted by NGL. It is the responsibility of each team captain and player to read through and understand the rules of this event. If anything is conflicting or unclear please contact an Admin to get clarification. If there are any amendments to this document it will be noted and communicated to the teams and players. The following will be covered in the document. 1. Dates of the Tournament 1 August 2014 – Tournament announced online 1 August 2014 – Registration live on NGL website 15 August 2014 – Signups for tournament close at 23h00 18 August 2014 – Match schedule live on NGL website 24 August 2014 – Qualifier 1 [online event] 31 August 2014 – Qualifier 2 [online event] 14 September 2014 – Qualifier 3 [online event] 21 September 2014 – Qualifier 4 [online event] 23 September 2014 – Final 8 teams announced who will play at rAge Friday 10 October 2014 – Day 1 Final event at rAge Expo [10h00 ‐ 17h00] Saturday 11 October 2014 – Day 2 Final event at rAge Expo [10h00 ‐ 17h00] Sunday 12 October 2014 – Day 3 Final event at rAge Expo [10h00 ‐ 14h00] Sunday 12 October 2014 – Prize giving to take place on Rectron stand [15h00] 1.2.
Format 1.2.1. There will be 4 Qualifiers held online over the course of August and September. 1.2.2. Each Qualifier will be held on a Sunday with matches starting at 15h00. 1.2.3. Each Qualifier is a single elimination tournament with opening matches being determined at random. 1.2.4. The winner of each Qualifier gets a guaranteed spot in the rAge Final. Those 4 teams will also be joined by the 4 next best performing teams according to total number of points accumulated in their Qualifier. 1.2.5. The Final at rAge will be a double elimination tournament with 8 teams partaking. 1.2.6. The Qualifiers will be single elimination tournaments. 1.2.7. The Qualifiers will all take place online. 1.2.8. Finals to be held at the rAge Expo on the Rectron stand using sponsored PC’s supplied by Rectron. 1.2.9. All the matches for the Finals at rAge will be played on the Rectron stand using sponsored PC’s. 1.3.
Team Rosters 1.3.1. Teams are to consist of 5 registered players each. NAG Gaming League | www.nagleague.co.za 3
1.3.2. Teams may register 2 additional subs who may be used in a Qualifier should one of their core 5 members not be available to play. 1.3.3. Each team that qualifies for rAge will only be allowed to use 5 of their registered players. No subs will be allowed at rAge. 1.3.4. Only South African based teams are allowed to participate in this tournament. 1.3.5. All players are required to register with their nickname and Dota 2 Steam account on the NGL website by no later than 23h00 on 15 August 2014. Players caught “smurfing” will be banned from the tournament and their respective team will then be disqualified. 1.3.6. Team members that are South African or Foreign that are NOT based in South Africa may not compete in the tournament. 1.3.7. Team members that are foreign nationals but are based in South Africa may participate. There will be no exceptions to this rule as the final event will be held at rAge where all teams and players must be present. You may contact the Tournament Director for clarification. 1.3.8. Your team roster must be locked in 4 days before the start of the 1st Qualifier. 1.3.9. If your team needs to make a change to your roster you have to contact the Tournament Director and state your teams’ case. This will be treated on a case by case basis as we won’t be running a full length league before rAge and will therefore need to investigate any suspicious team changes before approving any requests. 1.4.
Qualifiers 1.4.1. The AORUS CORSAIR DOTA 2 CLASH Qualifiers consist of 4 individual tournaments. 1.4.2. Each tournament is a single elimination tournament. 1.4.3. Each tournament has a maximum entry of 64 teams. 1.4.4. The winning team for each Qualifier is guaranteed a spot at the Finals at rAge. 1.4.5. From the quarter final stage of each Qualifier teams are awarded points based on their finishing position. Losing teams from quarter finals will face each other to determine 5th to 8th place. Losing teams from Semi‐Finals will face each other to determine 3rd and 4th place. 1.4.6. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st Place – Automatic entry into rAge finals / 2nd Place – 10 points / 3rd Place – 8 points / 4th Place – NAG Gaming League | www.nagleague.co.za 4
6 points / 5th Place – 4 points / 6th Place – 3 points / 7th Place – 2 points / 8th Place – 1 point 1.4.7. After Qualifier 4 has concluded the top 4 teams on the point standings will join the 4 winning teams from the 4 qualifier tournaments as the 8 final competing teams at rAge. 1.5.
Final Tournament at rAge 2014 1.5.1. Finals to be held at rAge Expo at The Dome, Randburg, JHB, Gauteng from 10‐12 October 2014. 1.5.2. Matches will be held on the expo show floor at the Rectron stand over the whole weekend starting Friday 10 October at 10h00 and the final being played on Sunday 12 October. 1.5.3. Finals is a double elimination tournament. 1.5.4. Seeds for this tournament are determined by performance in the qualifiers. 1.5.5. All matches will be played on sponsored PC’s setup at the Rectron stand. 1.5.6. All 5 team members must be present for the finals. No player will be allowed to play from outside of the competition area. 1.5.7. Games will be livestreamed and shoutcasted. 1.6.
Casting/Livestreaming 1.6.1. Players are not allowed to livestream while competing in the Qualifiers. 1.6.2. nAvTV will handle shoutcasting of selected matches during the 4 Qualifier tournaments. nAvTV will contact teams involved in selected matches to inform them their match will be streamed and shoutcasted. 1.6.3. The Finals at rAge will be shoutcasted and streamed from The Dome by the NGL Shoutcasting team. 1.7.
Cheating/Exploits 1.7.1. No form of cheating or exploits will be tolerated. 1.7.2. 3rd party software, hacks, scripts, etc. are not allowed. 1.7.3. The only 3rd party software which will be allowed are things like Mumble, Teamspeak, etc. NAG Gaming League | www.nagleague.co.za 5
1.7.4. If you are unsure please contact the Tournament Director and clarify if your software may be used or not. 1.7.5. If you are caught cheating/exploiting you and your team will be disqualified from the tournament. Your team and players will also be up for review for future participation in any NGL events. 1.7.6. Teams trying to exploit the system to gain points will be disqualified. 1.7.7. If your team is involved in “fixing” of results you will be disqualified. 2.
Match Specific Rules & Regulations 2.1.
Game Rules, Setup and Score Submission 2.1.1. General Match Rules 2.1.1.1.1. Teams to be ready in server 10mins before start time of fixture. 2.1.1.1.2. All players will communicate in Lobby that they are ready before match is started. 2.1.1.1.3. Teams have 15 minutes grace period from start of match to be on the server. Failure to do so will result in a forfeit. 2.1.1.1.4. Match times will be predetermined for every stage of Qualifier and Final. 2.1.1.1.5. Teams must ensure they are able to play for the whole duration of tournament. 2.1.1.1.6. Matches cannot be postponed for any reason whatsoever. 2.1.1.1.7. If a team member is experiencing any unforeseen issues you may use one of your registered subs. If your team has no subs available then you will need to contact the Tournament Director and the case will be assessed and a decision made. 2.1.1.1.8. It is up to the teams to ensure their members are online and ready to play. 2.2.

Cheats and Exploits 2.3.1. No form of Cheating in any way shape or form will be allowed. 2.3.2. Any hacks, scripts, 3rd party programs which interact with the game to enhance performance or limit performance of opposition will be not be allowed. 2.3.3. Programs such as Mumble which has an overlay in‐game will be allowed. 2.3.4. Contact Tournament Director to confirm if you are allowed to use something beforehand. 2.4.
Side Selection 2.4.1. The first full team present in the lobby will select which side they wish to be and the second team to arrive will decide which team will have the first pick during the draft. 2.5.
Pauses 2.5.1. Teams may Pause the game only when notifying the opposition before pausing the game. 2.5.2. Pause may only last 10 minutes unless expressly agreed by both teams in chat that it may last longer. 2.5.3. Teams may instantly pause game if one of their players drops connection. The 10 minute rule applies unless otherwise agreed by teams. 2.6.
Disconnects 2.6.1. If a player disconnects before the game has reached the 5 minute mark teams may disconnect and restart the game. 2.6.2. If the game is restarted teams will pick and ban the same heroes. Teams will also buy the same items and go to the same lanes. After the creeps meet they can change lanes. 2.6.3. If 1st Blood has occurred, teams may refuse to remake, but if teams do agree to remake the hero that died should offer to die again before NAG Gaming League | www.nagleague.co.za 7
the creeps spawn to the same hero that killed it. This only applies to when 1st blood occurred before the 5 minute mark. 2.6.4. If the game goes beyond 5 minute mark and a player drops then teams may use the Pause option. Teams have 10 minutes to get the player to reconnect. 2.6.5. As stated above in Pause section teams may agree to longer Pause time to get the player to reconnect. 2.7.
Match Disputes 2.7.1. All disputes must be lodged with the Tournament Director within 24 hours. 2.7.2. After 24 hours you may still lodge a complaint or raise a suspicion of cheating but the result may very well not be changed. 2.7.3. Please have all necessary information and evidence available when lodging a dispute. 2.8.
Player Behaviour 2.8.1. Players are expected to behave in a professional manner as this tournament will have a final event at rAge in front of a lot of spectators. 2.8.2. If your behaviour online is not acceptable according to the NGL standards we will inform you and take action if and when necessary. 2.8.3. Please refrain from typing messages in‐game unless it is really required. 2.8.4. Swearing at your opponent is not allowed in‐game. 2.8.5. Racism/Sexism/Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated at all. There won’t be a discussion about it if you are guilty of this you will be removed from the tournament. 2.8.6. The NGL will not play policeman in the public domain. What you and your team do in public games are of your own concern. We do however reserve the right to withdraw your entry from this event if you do not abide by our rules and regulations. 3. Staff & Admin 3.1.
