Story of VH-WRG
The aircraft was imported into Australia from Jamaica and originally registered VH-AAU.
I Purchased the aircraft in Melbourne in 1997 changed the rego to VH-WRG and placed the aircraft in Charter work in the Torres Straits with Northern Air
Services who operated the aircraft until 2002, when Northern folded the aircraft was sold at auction.
The aircraft was bought by a Redcliffe resident who had the wing spar replaced as a result of an amendment to an Airworthiness Directive. The work was carried
out in Maroochydore and at the same time the interior was renewed. The owner who didn’t have a lot of experience frightened his wife on one flight and she
refused to travel in the aircraft again.
The aircraft was then on sold to an operator in Adelaide who had the aircraft modified to fit as camera hatch for a contract that never materialized. Drawings
and EO for the mod are available.
I repurchased the aircraft in 2007 and placed it with Barrier Aviation in Cairns
The aircraft has been maintained by Mareeba Aircraft Maintenance to class A standard and there have been issues with the hydraulics now resolved, which has
required the replacement of the Main Landing gear selector, Flap selector, Mail Landing gear rams (both n2 and Hydraulic) and the resealing of the flap ram and
Hydraulic Reservoir and Accumulator.
I also modified the radios by adding a Garmin 430
The aircraft has been modified by EO to fit air-conditioning
It was repainted in 2008
The aircraft has a removable cargo interior and an extended baggage locker
The aircraft is located in Mareeba , and both propellers have been removed for overhaul based on calendar time and there is a LH magneto and Prop Governor
also away for overhaul. The component overhauler’s have been instructed to hold off because these components are time based as well as hours and they could
be refitted within 10 days after giving the go ahead to complete the overhaul.
There is a spare T/X Engine as removed, and a Main Landing Leg also as removed, which would go with the aircraft.
The Maintenance Release expires in April 2014 due calendar time and the aircraft has not flown since March 2013. The engines have been inhibited.
The aircraft will be sold with a fresh Maintenance Relaease and all AD’s up to date and fit to fly away.
A $20000 deposit and ten working days would be required to get the aircraft airworthy.
