Zum CRSC Cargo Rail Service Center CRSC e.V. is a European association in which workshops, car keepers, entities in charge of maintenance (ECMs), railway undertakings (RU), shippers and industrial partners of rail freight services are organised in order to combine forces in meeting the new demands of the sector. CRSC e. V. offers its members practical benefits in the areas: • • • • Spare-parts management within CRSC e. V. (via a European network of workshops), CRSC Service Platform (Communikation 3.0) ECM skills centre within the CRSC (subject-related workshops and more), and CRSC Insurance Concept (workshops and car-owner insurance), With more than 60 members and fleet of vehicles of more than 30,000 freight cars throughout the whole of Europe, CRSC stands for a highly efficient network excellently positioned to increase the competitiveness of rail freight services. Spare-parts management within CRSC e.V. CRSC car keepers/ECM utilize a Europe-wide network of partner workshops for their spare-parts management in accordance with GCU, thereby ensuring high availability of spare parts and components and, accordingly of their cars, thanks to short response times. The association provides CRSC workshops with a European network for the fast provision of all spare parts and components required during operations, thereby assuring them of greater capacity utilisation and helping to promote long-term customer loyalty. [email protected] www.crsc.ch CRSC Service Platform * Registered users can use the CRSC Service Platform to order all services of the member workshops. Not only individual services can be ordered, but also any combinations of the same. For example, it is possible to look for workshops capable of performing an IS2 as well as methanol cleaning. All search results are displayed on an interactive map. CRSC members can also use the platform to advertise their own companies and present the services they offer. They can decide on the locations owned by their undertaking and what services they wish to offer at which location. This platform can also be used to exchange data and other information between the parties. This provides the basis for rail transport and maintenance business to be organised almost completely online. ECM Skills Management within CRSC e.V. One of the greatest challenges in the new railway world is to build up and/or maintain the necessary skills in the individual areas of responsibility. The ECM Skills Centre was established to enable the skills available within the member companies to be used to the advantage of all member companies and offers the following services: Subject-related workshops, training courses and exchange of experiences on maintenance issues. - Information in the form of "Info letters" about the instructions published by national and international supervisory authorities. Exchange of information with regard to ECM requirements, including maintenance provisions between railway transport enterprises, ECM operators, workshops, shippers and service-providers [email protected] www.crsc.ch The CRSC members acquire genuine added value with the CRSC insurance concept: CRSC Insurance Concept for Workshops Industrial liability insurance arranged by CRSC e.V. (Master-Cover) increases the individual basic cover sums for third-party liability (minimum €10.225 million) of the parties insured thereunder (CRSC workshops), in the event of a claim, to €50 million. This means that car keepers who have their cars repaired in CRSC workshops can be sure not only of the quality of the service but also that the workshop is insured if ever the worst should happen. €50 million minimum €10.225 million Mastercover Liability (CRSC e.V.) Sum insured: EUR 50 million lump sum for personal injury and/or property damage, as maximum in any one event and twice in the aggregate for all claims of an insurance year including "drop down" following basic liability cover held by the insured CRSC workshops Mastercover Basic Cover (CRSC Workshops) Sum insured: EUR 10.225 million lump sum for personal injury and/or damage to property per claim, as maximum in any one event and twice in the aggregate for all claims in an insured year CRSC Insurance Concept for Car Keepers Through Cargo Rail Service Center CRSC e.V. as insured party, it has been possible since May 2012 for member car keepers to raise their own verifiable insurance cover to a maximum amount of €100 million for personal injury and/or damage to property for each incident. This dispenses with the need for individual CRSC car keepers to purchase capacity in this respect and offers major cost advantages given the normally high level of minimum premiums on the market. Insurance cover is also simultaneously extended to the rights and duties of the “entities in charge of maintenance” (ECM) based on the EU Regulation 445/2011. The same applies in the event that third parties are assigned or if this function is assumed as part of the administration of freight cars for third parties. The premium is paid on a pro-rata basis by means of a cost-allocation process on application by CRSC car keepers covered by the insurance and the costs are a fraction of those for own individual insurance. €100 million minimum €50 million Mastercover Liability (CRSC e.V.)
