BIO PAPPEL ANNOUNCES THAT ITS MAJOR SHAREHOLDER HAS REACHED
AN AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE 100% OF THE SHARES OF CORPORACION SCRIBE
BIO PAPPEL, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: PAPPEL), the largest paper producer in Mexico,
announces that its major shareholder, GRUPO BIO PAPPEL, S.A. de C.V. (GBP), has
signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of CORPORACION SCRIBE,
S.A.P.I. de C.V. (SCRIBE).
SCRIBE is the industrial and commercial leader company in Mexico for the manufacturing
and distribution of bond paper, printing and writing consumer products, known by its
highly recognized trademark "Scribe" in bond paper and paper for copying and printing
purposes, as well as notebooks.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the Mexican antitrust authorities (Comision
Federal de Competencia Economica) and the consent of the Scribe bondholders.
GBP is contemplating to later integrate both, Pappel and Scribe in one same entity, to
maximize their value creation opportunities.
