MINISTRIES
ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE is needing teachers. Specifically ESL needs 1 general
teacher, 1 literacy teacher and 1 substitute teacher to replace regular teachers when
needed. This is wonderful ministry opportunity to both equip immigrated people with
language tools to help them in day to day life, and to share Jesus with them. For more.

THE HEART OF WESTVIEW’S
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
At Westview, the goal of our Children’s Ministry is to cooperate with parents in setting the
foundation for their child’s journey with Christ, a grounding they will build upon through
their adolescent years and beyond. We trust God to lead and empower us in delivering
children’s programming for ages 2 through grade 6 that is effective, relevant and
meaningful.
A Taskforce recently concluded many months prayer and work in
determining core focuses for our Children's Ministry. We encourage you to read the
“Heart of Westview’s Children Ministry” document on our website and pray for the
ongoing ministry in these precious lives.

NEWS FROM THE DEWITS:
“We met a girl at the Swaysa village study centre that stole our hearts and probably changed
us forever.
Her name is Chhovry, she is 18 years old and was born without arms. She is our
inspiration, she was walking a couple of KM everyday to learn English. Chhovry lives 20
minutes out of town and there was no way for her to go to school. She was in private school
for a few years but the organisation that was funding her stopped. I asked her what she
wanted to be, thinking what can she possibly accomplish in Cambodia without two arms in a
country where its difficult to get a job. Her response was inspiring, she said she wanted to be a
translator, that there was nothing wrong with her brain or mouth. As a family we decided that
we would help her as long as she was willing. We enrolled her back in Private school, Bora in
the morning and Dewey for English in the afternoon. What a blessing and inspiration she has
been to us and others. Update on Chhovry, she received her first report card, she is in the top
10 of her class at Bora. Dewey is having a special day of talent shows and speaking events,
Chhovry volunteered to sing solo in front of the school and guest. Needless to say we are so
proud of her.”

Westview Restorative Building Fund….
CURRENT: $14,710
GOAL: $300,000
God has provided us with many ongoing opportunities to be of
service to the community and the city. We have been given an open
door to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in a place where
there are few churches and few Christ followers - but lots of people
who are seeking the truth. We are prayerfully seeking as a church,
what God would have us pursue in considering facility expansion; in
upgrading or changing a number of our physical spaces.
Immediately however, there are urgent needs within our existing
facility that are the realities of an aging building; needs such as:
-
bathroom renovations
replacement of carpeting
replacing nursery wing heat pumps
replacing ceiling tiles
changing gym lighting fixtures that are soon to be obsolete
replacing a dying sanctuary projector
painting throughout.
As a result, we need to build up some extra funds to address these
urgent needs.
So let's all partner together. Together, we can raise funds that are
over and above our normal operating budget. Together, we can dig
a little deeper to see these restorative building needs met.
Will you pray about this and see if God leads you to give an extra gift
directed towards this effort?
Kindly label any donations for the building fund by writing
"RESTORATIVE BUILDING FUND"

WORSHIP
This past Sunday we worshipped with the following songs:
O Come All Ye Faithful/We Adore You
O Come O Come Emmanuel
Hark The Herald/King of Heaven
OFFERING REMINDER: Rather than collecting the offering during the service, a drop box safe
has been permanently installed, inside and between the sanctuary doors that exit to the lobby. At
any point before and immediately following the service, you can put your offering into this safe. If
you would prefer to make a regular donation by doing a Pre-Authorized Donation, please pick up
a form at the Welcome Desk or contact the office to have the form e-mailed to you.
Thanks to everyone who is giving regularly at Westview and particularly our PAD
participants.
