Wadjemup Walk Trail offers visitors to Rottnest a new way to experience the Island. Leave the bitumen roads behind
and discover intriguing places along the Bickley Bay section. This section traverses the south east corner
of the Island – Thomson Bay to Oliver Hill.

reefs have proven treacherous
for many mariners. Discover the
“Shark’s” secrets below the
water’s surface.
Oliver Hill – Discover Oliver Hill
Battery, which consists of tunnel
structures supporting two 9.2 inch
guns and railway lines. Choose to
take a guided tour of the site or
catch the Captain Hussey train
back to the Settlement.

Vlamingh Lookout – Start your
journey with some of the best
views on the Island. From Vlamingh
Lookout you’ll gain real perspective
of what you’ll find beyond the
Settlement.
The Causeway – As you wander
along the edge of Herschel Lakes
you’ll discover the lakes have a very
complex natural and cultural history.

Lake Baghdad – Stop and be
entranced by the birds dancing
on the Salt Lakes. These lakes
have been recognised as Wetlands
of National Importance, and as
an Important Bird Area (IBA) for
seabirds.

Thomsons Farm – Discover the
Fays

what was once the Thomson family
farm. Relics from the agriculture era
can be seen from remnants of farm
buildings, troughs and fencing.
