Skydive Arizona will be hosting its Holiday Boogie at the same time as the Collegiates. The event webpage probably won’t be active until the fall; check here. During the boogie, regular jumping, including training, tandems and balloon jumps takes place at the DZ’s main landing areas simultaneously with the collegiate events, which will be centered on the hangar adjacent to the wind tunnel. See SDAZ’s facility web page. 2014 NCPC Information Sheet You can practice any time prior to the Collegiates at Boogie rates. As for the schedule of competitive events, the meet director, Bryan Burke, will announce it at the start of the meet. Generally, the rule is “blue sky, go high” and then run the accuracy events, but winds can play into that calculation. You can download Chapter 1 (general rules), Chapter 5 (formation skydiving rules) and Chapter 7 (collegiate rules, also attached) from the competition overview. Check out the general collegiate information here. In case you plan on entering the 2-way VFS event, I’ve attached a copy of the new 2-way VFS collegiate dive pool. It’s the same as the Advanced Class MFS 2-way dive pool (Appendix L/M of SCM Chapter 5): Representations of the numbered block sequences and lettered random formations (except blocks 7 & 8 and randoms D, G, I, J, K and L) from the current dive pool are singularly placed in one container. Individual withdrawal from the container, without replacement, determines the sequences to be jumped in each round. Don’t hesitate to call or email me ([email protected]) if you still have questions. You can also direct inquiries to Bryan Burke, your 2014 NCPC Meet Director ([email protected]). We see a wide range of skills on display at the Collegiates, from novice to near-expert level. Regardless, there’s a class (novice, intermediate or masters) for everyone. Come join your peers for a great time! Sincerely, James L.
