After serving for 30 years in demanding Arctic waters the vessel has been given a new, more fascinating task – to give unforgettable experiences for eager winter adventurers! Capacity on board is 150 persons. Departure from Ajos, the deep port of the town Kemi. Ajos is situated 11 km south from the city center. Boarding time half an hour before the departure. Once on board the Icebreaker, you will have a presentation of the ship and a guided tour will take you to the massive engine room and the bridge. A delicious meal is served in the ship’s cozy Sampo Arctic Restaurant. Before returning to the port, the ship will make a one-hour stop to enable you to take a swim in the sea, comfortably dressed in a warm survival suit! Day cruise is our day time cruise at 12-16. Lunch is served during the cruise. Brunch cruise is a morning cruise at 9-13 – great possibility to enjoy the arctic sunrise and delicious brunch on board. Afternoon cruise at 14-18 is – depending on the month – either a twilight atmosphere on the Gulf of Bothnia (December) or a unique combination of light hours and the “blue moment” on the frozen sea. Late lunch is served during the cruise. Evening cruise at 19-23 we recommend this mysterious cruise for the seekers of the Northern Lights and stars! Delicious dinner is served during the cruise. Guide will pick you up from your hotel and bring you to the safari house. After changing into safari equipment the journey towards the arctic icebreaker by snowmobiles begins. You will get on board the Icebreaker Sampo in the middle of the frozen sea where you´ll leave your snowmobile. Visit to the small reindeer camp is included to the program, either on the way to the Icebreaker or on the way back. At the camp you will have a chance to try how to drive a sleigh, pulled by a reindeer. Sandwich and coffee/tea is served by an open fire.
