Ron Shaw, a teacher with Gibbons School who organized the event.
Approximately 30 students in Grades 7 to 9, who are also in the school Hockey

SNOWFLAGS ON PRIMARY OR SECONDARY HIGHWAYS
If your driveway is located off a primary or secondary highway (18, 661,
827, 831) etc., you will need to call Public Works at 780-398-3977 to let
us know your flag is out, as our grader operators do not travel these
highways.
Plowing Your Own Driveway
When plowing snow out of your driveway, please push the snow to the right
of your driveway, so that the grader operator can take it away from the
driveway. Please do not push snow across the road into the opposite ditch,
as this may leave a ridge that if a vehicle were to hit and do damage to
their vehicle, themselves or their passengers, the land owner could be held
responsible.

My best Christmas ever was last year. Me
and my family went to Hawaii. When I went
to Hawaii, I had Christmas there. I had my
birthday there and my Nana and Papa had
their anniversary in Hawaii. The meaning of
Christmas is Jesus’ birthday. We only get
presents because Jesus was a gift from God.

The meaning of Christmas to me is giving
instead of getting. My family celebrates each
day from December 1st to December 24th
waking up to find our family’s elf on the
shelf jingles. On Christmas eve my family
leaves cookies and milk for Santa. On
Christmas day my family takes turns opening presents. Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of Christ and Christmas is also
about spreading peace, joy, and love. Kaeden

I think Christmas is not all about presents. I
think it’s giving to other people and to think
about Jesus and Mary too. My best Christmas was last year, I got a nerfer bell gun. I
like playing with it. Every year when we are
done opening presents we go to my Grandma’s to have brunch. I love her mashed potatoes. We put presents under the tree and you
get to grab a different present. We do treasure hunts. My sister got a fuzzy quilt. We get
new p.j.s all the time. I love Christmas. Mercedes Anderson, Grade 3, Camilla School

OUR FAMILY always puts
out carrots and cookies for
Santa and the Reindeer. Christmas is a time for every family to
come together. It is better to
give than to receive on Christmas. When I did not know we
were going to Hawaii so when I
found out I was really excited to
go. That was my best Christmas. Cohen Sutherland, Grade
3S, Camilla School
I THINK the true meaning
and spirit of Christmas is the
food and family and friends.
We all gather around the Christmas tree and thank Jesus.
Alana Bart, Grade 4 DJ, Bon

I THINK THE TRUE meaning and spirit of Christmas is
spending time with family then
we eat a special dinner.
Christopher Sturrock, Grade

WE WAKE up and we meet
in the living room and open our
presents from Santa. We get
dressed to go to the Christmas
party. Becca Greenwald, Grade
3M, Camilla School
IN MY FAMILY we put up the
tree in early December. We go
to my grandparents houses and
open gifts. On Christmas eve
we hang stockings, leave out
cookies and milk, and open one
present. I like Christmas
because you get to open presents and it’s the day Jesus was
born. Bethany Sweeney, Grade
3M, Camilla School
My Sixth Christmas. I woke
up that morning. I was scared of
the living room. I thought Santa
was still there, so I went to my
mom and dad’s room. Then we
went to the living room and
opened presents.
Declin

MY FAMILY and I stay home

where all the presents are. My

Our family has pancakes for breakfast and then we look in our stockings,
then open presents. The meaning of
Christmas is to remember Jesus and
his mom and dad. The best Christmas
is this year. My family gets to go to
Florida. This year we are going to my
auntie’s house on Christmas day to
open presents. This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had. One more thing,
Merry christmas and Happy New Year.
Have a good Christmas everyone.

Mr. Cruickshank’s grade 5 & 6 students at Andrew School practiced the gift of giving
during the month of December. Students spent every morning collecting non-perishable
food items from the classrooms. During their recess they sold many delicious treats for
one dollar per piece. A total of $500 was raised and many boxes of food items were
collected. On Dec. 19 these students delivered and sorted the food at the Andrew Lions
Club building. The food was distributed by the Andrew Family & Community Support
Services during this Christmas season and the money will be used to buy additional
supplies as needed. Mr. Cruickshank summed it up by saying "The students were very
eager to participate in helping their community. They demonstrated that kindness and
empathy are gifts that all children possess in their hearts. This was also shown in the
selfless generosity of the many parents who baked squares, cookies, cupcakes, and
doughnuts every day for 10 days in a row. Our school is like a family and we consider
the community members of Andrew to be an important part of that family."
