 Understand the preparation of accounting information by practical
application of accounting transactions
 Apply accounting concepts to analyze business performance
 Use accounting information effectively in decision-making
 Formulate and solve problems through systematic analysis

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Student is required to read each chapter and complete assigned exercises and/or problems
consistent with the class schedule. Student will be asked to discuss/problem solve, in large
group format, each exercise or problem at each class meeting beginning with Chapter 1.
Student will complete an assigned group of problems (see end of syllabus) during the course
of the trimester.

Please note: All evaluation points are subject to change.
Make up exams will not be given. Should a student be unable to take an exam consistent
with the class schedule, a comprehensive exam during the final week of the trimester will be
available to the student. Student attendance is required. The policy of Avila University
concerning cheating and plagiarism will be strictly followed in this class.
The instructor reserves the right to alter the class schedule based on class progress. Students
experiencing difficulty with any of the related subject material should advise the instructor
for further explanation.
