Mobile Deposit Capture (mDC) Questions & Answers Q. What is MDC? A. MDC is a convenient depositing service for members. You can now deposit a check into your PAFCU checking account(s) using your mobile phone without having to visit a branch. Q. What are the fees for this service? There is no fee for use of MDC service from PAFCU. We reserve the right to implement a fee for this service at any time. If a check is dishonored, rejected or otherwise returned unpaid, a fee may be assessed. Please refer to our current fee schedule. Q. When are MDC items processed? A. Items received before 4:00 PM will be posted the same business day. Items received after 4:00 PM will be posted the following business day. Q. Do I need to sign an agreement before I can start using MDC service? A. You do not need to sign an agreement, but will need to agree to the Terms and Agreement. Q. How do I log onto MDC? A. Thru the PAFCU online banking app. Q. What type of checks can I scan in MDC? A. Checks only made payable to you. We will only accept deposits that contain checks that are drawn on financial institutions in the US. Be sure to endorse all items on the back of the check with “Signature” and “For MDC at PAFCU” Q. What is the maximum amount I can deposit in MDC? A. The daily limit is $3000.00 per member and $1500.00 per mobile deposit, with 4:00 PM as the cutoff time. Q. Can multiple deposits be submitted during one day? A. Each check must be submitted separately but you may submit multiple checks on the same day up to the daily limit. Q. Will holds be placed on checks submitted through MDC? If so, how long? A. Policy will be the same for MDC as if you were to come to the branch to make a deposit. Q. What should I do with a check once is has been scanned successfully? A. You agree to securely store each original check that you deposit using MDC for a period of 6 months after transmission to credit union. After period expires, you can destroy original check. Q. The amount I entered for a deposit is different from the amount I got credit for, why? A. After reviewing the deposited item, it was determined that the amount entered was different from the legal amount. Q. Can I cancel MDC? A. Yes, just call into one of our branches and we will cancel it for you. Q. Do I need a deposit ticket to make a deposit? A. Sending a clear image of the front and back of the check is all that is needed to make a deposit. Q. What accounts can I make a deposit to with this service? A. Checking Q. Do both sides of the check have to be scanned? A. Yes Q. Who is eligible to use this service? A. To use this service, you must be 18 years of age or older and a member of PAFCU for 90 days or more. All accounts must be in good standing with no delinquent accounts or loans and no history of returned deposits. Direct deposit of at least $1000.00 per month is required. Fresh Start Checking members DO NOT qualify for MDC.
