The full report can be found here. The overall judgment for children’s services is that it requires improvement. To agree the date of the 2015 Annual Conference as Friday 23 October. Bookings will commence in due course. To be assured that the IOWSCB missing, exploited and trafficked sub group are able to directly measure themselves against the Rotherham CSE recommendations, with evidence of excellent activity between partner agencies and compliance with the systems and processes in place. To receive the missing, exploited and trafficked problem profile, which details all victims and known perpetrators. The problem profile focuses on the 4LSCB areas and identifies children and young people at risk, themes, trends and hotspot areas. Incorporated into this is the location of educational establishments and care homes. The problem profile indicates the level of risk for each individual and location. To initiate a Task and Finish Group to review partner awareness and actions with regard to female genital mutilation (FGM) and early forced marriage (EFM) and provide assurance to the IOWSCB that FGM and EFM are on the agenda of partner action plans. To initiate a multi-agency Task and Finish Group to address the requirements of professionals and children and young people on the Island with regards to neglect. The group will: review thresholds and types of neglect; analyse data; consider development of the Child & Family Assessment model; develop a practitioner toolkit for working with neglect; develop a data set to enhance understanding of long term low level neglect; and develop a tool to measure the journey of the family. To undertake a formal review of the 4LSCB CDOP (Child Death Overview Panel) process by April 2015. The online safeguarding procedures have been updated. The latest changes include new chapters on child protection plans; honour based violence; self harm and suicidal behaviour; and responding to abuse and neglect. Following publication of the National Serious Case Review Expert Panel’s first annual report, the DfE have provided a response to each of the nine recommendations. Julie Davies, Board Manager The DfE launched a consultation document on 6 January 2015 about three substantial changes to Working Together 2013. These are in relation to the referral of allegations against those who work with children; notifiable incidents involving the care of a child; and the definition of serious harm for the purposes of serious case reviews.
