MACARTHUR HIGH SCHOOL

Principal’s Post...I’m amazed at all the pride MacArthur students have in their school, the community and the world around them. They continue to inspire! We sent Lincoln VanMeter off to
state in Cross Country, another 14 students to pursue internships with Pathways to Prosperity, and a
handful inquiring about the Sister Cities Exchange Program in order to visit Seevetal, Germany over
the summer. There are 15 sophomores through seniors being recognized as Central State 8 AllAcademic Team members this fall, meaning they are in the top 20% of their class and have a 3.6
GPA or higher. We are also celebrating student success at the Ameren Noon Rotary Luncheon this
month. I am looking forward to cheering on our Life Skills basketball team and checking out the
talent during the Team Soy Capital Turkey Tournament. Student Council held their fall blood drive
with several students successfully donating. Finally, we have a solid team working to plan our transition back to the renovated MacArthur High School - Home of the Generals. On behalf of the MHS
faculty and staff, we wish you and your families a very happy holiday season.

News from IJAG...Students in the Jobs for America’s Graduates Program at MacArthur High School will have a better idea what to expect
when they go to college as they take part in a “college shadowing” day on November 11th. The program will match up high school seniors who
are enrolled in the JAG program to go with them to a college class and to give the visiting students a personalized tour of Millikin University. The
Jobs for America’s Graduates Program, also known as the MacArthur Career Association, teaches students leadership skills and encourages career
development, while also focusing on qualities needed in the workforce, such as punctuality, teamwork, and time management.
