Dear Friends,
Urologic cancers are on the rise in India and account for a significant work load in clinical
practice. The diagnosis, investigations and treatment of these cancers have undergone
tremendous evolution in last two decades.
Apart from keeping abreast with the technological advances in the urological cancer
surgery, it is of great importance to understand the science behind these cancers and the
philosophy of how best to deal with these challenging cancers. A perfect blend of science,
technology and philosophy while dealing with these cancers makes a world of difference
to final outcome.
This year's Uro-oncology course at JPAC is precisely aimed to cover the science,
principles of practice, technological advances and philosophy behind choosing the right
approach. The course is aimed at
trainees, young urologists and the established
consultant urologists who wish to update themselves in this field.
Short lectures, video demonstration of all uro-oncological procedures and more
importantly case based interactive discussions would be the highlights of this course.
Started in year 2000 on a small scale as a post graduate activity , Uro-oncology course
at Nadiad now has now become a regular and popular course at JPAC. Apart from
Dr
Makarand Khochikar who has been conducting these courses for last so many years at
JPAC , we have Dr Badrinath Konety MD (Minneapolis, USA) as an international faculty
for this course . Dr Konety is a urologic oncologist of great international repute and he is
currently associate editor of The Journal of Urology and adjunct secretary general of SIU.
We are looking forward to have him with us for this course, the first academic activity of
the year 2015 at JPAC.
