THE NEW POINT OF VIEW –
VIEW Premium Selection convinces
as the Successful Kick-Off to the
16 Spring.Summer Season
+ VIEW presents 300 collections in Munich for the Premium segment
+ This first presentation date is exclusive for the sector
+ Convincing extension to the denim and sportswear range
+ Premium brands confirm the quality of visitors
Two intensive and inspiring days at the trade fair
once again mark a very successful start to the 16
Spring.Summer season. With a portfolio of some 300
selected suppliers the last edition of VIEW Premium
Selection presented the first collection developments
and innovations for fabrics, additionals as well as
denim and sportswear. Represented here were the
leading international weaving mills and manufacturers
showcasing their innovations for the first time at VIEW
and once again attracting renowned ready-to-wear
manufacturers and brands to Munich. The importance of the preview trade show as the first date for the
sector confirms how perfectly timed the event is. The
unique collection line-up serves designers and buyers
as key guidance and a source of inspiration for the
first material and colour trends for the new season
setting the basis for the design of the new collections.
The on-going appeal of VIEW for internationally established brands was once again confirmed by the very
high quality visitor structure. At this second show at
the MVG Museum it was now even possible to slightly build on the significant rise in visitor numbers from
last July. The names attending included purchasing
teams and designers from Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin
Klein, Lagerfeld, Baldessarini, Windsor, Hugo Boss,
Marc Cain, Drykorn, Akris, Riani, René Lezard, MAC
and LaLa Berlin alongside Alberto, Gardeur, Marc
O’Polo, s.Oliver, Comma and Brax among others.
“We are represented at VIEW with a team of eleven
people from almost all product lines as this show
offers the perfect start to the new season. The first
impressions and inspirations gained here mean we
can get started with many ideas early on. The primary focus at this stage is on new fabrics and developments as well as colour trends that we see here
in pre-collections and which provide us with a common thread running through the collections. Here
we do not expect any finished collections but seek
current developments that we can incorporate when
developing prototypes. This then means at MUNICH
FABRIC START we are already able to finalise and go
into the duplication phase,” says Jochen Vits, Purchasing Manager at Brax.
For the first time at this early date design studios
presented their innovations in the print and pattern
segment and rounded off the portfolio in a creative
setting. This season’s extended range of denim and
sportswear collections went down especially well.
“We are very surprised at how effective the trade
show presence is for us here. The most important criterion for us was the quality of visitors – which more
than convinced us on both days of the show. The
unique location also makes the event something special,” said Norbert Hinderberger from Candiani SpA
summing up exhibitor mood.
The very positive mood and great response to the
development and approach of VIEW as a preview
event to MUNICH FABRIC START meant exhibitors
are more than satisfied. “We have managed to double and broaden the portfolio in a very short space of
time in order to serve different product groups. We
are delighted about the great response to this complementary concept and see great potential for the
long-term establishment and further development of
VIEW as a complement to MUNICH FABRIC START.
We will continue to nurture VIEW in our tried and trusted way and as well as we can – we love VIEW,” says
Wolfgang Klinder.
Trends Spring.Summer 16
With fabrics a special „Touch & Feel“ is still very much
in focus with very soft finishes. The first material
trends are already emerging. Jacquards are a major
theme in almost all collections and feature in suitably
creative interpretations, from abstract and geometric
patterns and floral designs to ethno-inspired patterns
and minimal designs. The denim and sportswear
segment clearly reflects the widely varying desires of
designers. From super soft in pale tones through to
dry and sturdy in raw indigo. Added to this are highly
varied lightweight fabrics for jackets and blazers.
And once again lots of jersey for a sporty twist for
ready-to-wear. For more voluminous looks there is a
wide array of bonded materials with interesting material patching. The colour scheme ranges from white, beige, grey and natural backgrounds and pastels
through to bold sportswear tones. Orange, pink and
yellow neon feature regularly in patterns and repeats.
Continuing to convince are blue and indigo tones,
also in faded looks.
For further information on the trends please see
VIEW FABRIC REPORT on the following pages.
Expected at the forthcoming MUNICH FABRIC START
from 2 - 4 February 2015 will be some 950 international exhibitors presenting a varied portfolio for the 16
Spring.Summer season in fully booked exhibition halls
ahead of the international fabric fairs. The BLUEZONE
– running on 2 and 3 February and featuring some 80
exhibitors, including the leading European denim weaving mills and finishing operations alongside strong
new exhibitors – is also fully booked. This means it
has never been so well attended.

The next VIEW Premium Selection to kick off the
