We had a great Christmas dance on the third Saturday with a great turnout to dance to Ken Ritucci and Bev Oren. If you were not there you really missed a very fun dance. For our January dance we have Mike Sikorsky and Bev Oren, another great dance in the making. We also had a fun New Year’s Eve as a club when we participated in a dance demo at a church in Fullerton. Tim Pepper called and it was a really fun time with squares and line dance demos. The church congregation loved the evening of dance food, and comradery. It all ended with a prayer and some wonderful comments from the audience. kindness and support in our time of need. They stepped up, opened their home, and hurried their Christmas decorating to allow the party to happen. They are wonderful Church Mice examples of hospitality, caring about our club and what can happen when we apply the true feeling of Christmas: Love and Giving to your friends, neighbors and this case all of us. Please thank them when you see them at a dance, a visitation, or just out and about for all that they do for our club. I want to alert you to an event we are planning for February. We are going to again do a "Breakfast at Applebees” fundraiser. I want all of you to come out and help us with this event and sell some tickets to your friends, neighbors and co-workers. It is an important fundraiser and it will help us fund our dances and start doing some club sponsored special events like a mystery bus trip, or a special visitation to a club far away by bus, or a concert, or play or some event that you might suggest outside the normal dance events. Let’s get out and support this so we can get together and have some fun as a group. I want to soap box for a moment. I seem to always see the same group of faces over and over at our dances and visitations. I have seen less than a third of all the members so far and only a handful on any regular basis. Where are you other Church Mice? Come on out to one of our dances or visitations. I’d love to meet you and talk about our club and what we could together to make it better for us in the future.
