We will be looking at the impact the Ancient Greeks have had on our lives today including within Science, medicine and the Olympic games. It would be great Yr 4 children could find out about the Greek legacy by borrowing some books from the library about the Olympics or famous people from Ancient Greece. In addition to this, we will be looking at living things in our Science unit. This will include identifying birds and flowers with the help of keys and decision trees. Children in year 4 could look at the living things around them during the Christmas break and draw some labelled diagrams showing features of these living things. Throughout our literacy unit, we will be reading the first of the Narnia stories: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It would be useful for children to borrow this book from the library to support them in their lessons. Finally, all children will be given a target home learning pack which will support them in practising skills that they have found difficult so far. Please assist them where necessary so that these packs are completed by the first week back.
