Introduction
This course is designed for practising middle managers who wish to develop their core
management skills and practices. The qualification focuses on the personal development
of the individual learner’s management capabilities and competencies.
As a practising middle manager the training offers you the theory to support your existing
knowledge and helps you to hone your management techniques to motivate and lead your
team. In the current economic climate, gaining qualifications and building on your existing
skills will offer you opportunity long term.

Information based decision making
This unit is about using, presenting and communicating data that supports
decision making.
Organisational financial management
This unit is about financial management systems and controls and the impact of
external factors on organisational financial management.
Conducting a marketing plan
This unit is about understanding the role of marketing, the organisation’s
current market position and planning for widening markets.
Managing recruitment, selection and induction
This unit is about identifying a need for staff, selecting objectively and
inducting effectively within legal and organisational requirements.
Being a leader
This unit is about understanding and applying leadership skills and the
understanding of ethical and cultural issues within the organisation.

What will be expected of you?
To get the most from this course, you will be expected to attend all classes and fully
participate in all activities. Studying in your own time is also advised to help you absorb
and understand the various theory elements and how they fit into the day-to-day work
routine. Training takes place on Thursdays from 4.30 – 8.30pm and may include tutorial,
group and one-to-one work.
Assessments
Your progress will be assessed through exercises and assignments to ensure you are
making the progress necessary to complete the units.

Cost
The fee for this course is £2400. If your employer is paying your fee you will need to
provide details on headed paper and details for invoicing purposes.
Terms and Conditions
1. Places cannot be reserved unless the booking is accompanied by the course fee.
2. CNWL will e-mail confirmation of the booking upon receipt of the course fee.
3. Joining instructions will be sent directly to the individual trainees nearer the date of
the course.
4. CNWL reserves the right to cancel courses at any time and to transfer confirmed
bookings to rescheduled dates. Clients unable to attend the rescheduled course will
be entitled to a full refund.
5. In the event of client cancellation notice received less than one month prior to
commencement of training CNWL reserves the right to impose a 50% cancellation
fee. When notification is less than two weeks before commencement of training the
cancellation fee is 100% of the full course fee.
