Donated toys presented to
The Samaritan Center
Happy new year everyone! Our
focus for December was
community outreach. Our
residents enjoyed various projects
throughout the month to help
different organizations around
Chattanooga, including
collecting toys for the Samaritan
Center. The Samaritan Center
donated the toys to local
children who otherwise would not
have had a Christmas. Morning
Pointe of Hixson collected almost
two full barrels! Residents also
decorated bags for the

In addition we made dog toys for
the homeless pets at the Pet
Placement Center. The pet
placement center has several
board members who volunteer at
Morning Pointe including Lou
Dilsaver's granddaughter, Ali who
accepted our donation. All of
these outreach projects were a
wonderful reminder how blessed
we all are and how easy it can
be to make a big impact.

As a new year starts and
an old one ends, we

think of our loved ones
and our friends. Recalling
all the happy times,
remembering how they

on their Wedding Day
Marie Lunn with
Parker, Magk, Tricia and Sydney
Wife, mother, Grandmother and greatgrandmother Marie Lunn is living the all
American life. Marie was born July 21,
1920 and was the first born American
in her family. She grew up in Spring
Valley, Illinois with her brother and
sister. She met her husband, Elwood
"Butch" Lunn, while roller skating as a
sophomore in high school. Their
friendship grew over the years during
his time in the war. Butch served in the
Army and received a purple heart
after being wounded in Italy. Upon his
return, Marie and Butch were married
and had one son, John.
Marie worked as an accountant for 65
years for John Deere and Garage &
Service. At age 40, she fell in love with
golf and has been an avid player ever
since even winning a local women's
tournament! She says some of her
favorite memories are golfing with her
husband.
Besides golf Marie enjoys knitting,
crocheting, writing and especially
creating cards on her computer.
She is an accomplished seamstress
who still has fond memories of time at
her sewing machine.
Marie also enjoys sports of all kinds and
is a "Die Hard Cubs Fan"!
Marie moved to Chattanooga in July
to spend more time with her family
including her son John and his wife
Annie.
