Held under the sanction of USA Swimming Inc. and Inland Empire Swimming In granting this sanction it is
understood and agreed that USA Swimming and Inland Empire Swimming shall be free and held harmless from
any liabilities or claims for damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Use
of audiovisual recording devices, including cell phone cameras is not allowed in the changing areas, rest rooms
or locker rooms. No deck changing allowed!

HOST: Yakima YMCA Swim Team
LOCATION: Yakima Lions Pool - South 5th Avenue and Pine Street - Yakima, WA.
(Near Davis HS)
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Six lane, indoor, twenty-five yard pool - bulkhead divides shallow
end. All starts, except 8&U, 25 yard events, will be from the deep end.8 & U starts will be from
the bulkhead, where the water depth is 4’6”. Wheelchair accessibility is available to the lower
deck level. Hy-Tek Meet Manager software and the Colorado 5000 Timing System will be used.
The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4).
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all USA Swimming registered swimmers. Athletes with a disability are
welcome and are asked to provide advance notice of necessary accommodations. Age on the
first day of the meet determines the age group to enter. Girls and Boys age groups include 8&U,
9-10, 11-12, 13 & over. The USA Swimming SWIMS database requires that all swimmer data
be correct before any meet data (swimmer times) will be loaded into the USA Swimming
database. If you know of any swimmer data that is not correct in the meet database, please
notify the meet referee as soon as possible. The appropriate changes will be made. The data will
be sent to USA Swimming within 3 days of the meet. Thanks for your cooperation.
RULES: USA Swimming rules will govern the meet. IES rules and procedures also apply. The
Meet Referee shall be the final authority for the conduct of the meet. Swimmers participating in
the meet without a coach must report to the meet Referee at the start of the warm-up session, a
USA certified coach will be assigned and other instructions may be given. Meet Marshals will
be present during the warm-up session. Coaches must be current USA Swimming Coach
Members. This is required for supervision of swimmers during warm-ups and for coaching
during the competition phase of the meet. Proof of current USA certification must be presented
upon request of the Meet Referee or his/her designee. Any swimmer in the meet must be
certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or
must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the
responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this
requirement.
Only swimmers, coaches, officials and meet workers are permitted in the deck area. Spectators
will not be allowed in the deck area without proof of current USA Swimming membership. The
deck area is considered to be a 3 foot area from the edge of the pool and the area behind the
start platforms up to the timer chairs.
ENTRIES: All (including 8 & U) may enter 5 individual events and two relays per day. The
priority system will be in effect. If the Meet Director determines that the meet is
oversubscribed, 4th and 5th entries may be deleted and entry fees refunded. If you do not
prioritize your events, the Meet Director may use his/her judgment in choosing 4th and 5th
priorities, coaches will be notified of any entry deletions. Swimmers must compete in their own
age group, except for the 1650 free. This event is designated as 11& Over, but will be awarded
as 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & over. Time Trials will be offered at the end of the day. Time Trials
count as an event individual event and swimmers may not exceed the 5 individual event limit
for the day. Entries will be limited to include all teams up to and including the team that has the
250th swimmer entered. Entries may be submitted by one of two methods:
(1) E-mail Hy-tek Commlink file for individual events and relays to: cyst
[email protected]. Entries will not be accepted unless hard copies and entry fees are received
by the entry date.
(2) Alternatively, submit your team’s entries on the IES master entry form with the
seed time in yards. The master entry form may be found on the IES website. Indicate the 4th
and 5th priority events each day by inserting a 4 or 5 in the upper right hand corner of the
event.
Team entries will not be accepted unless accompanied by ENTRY FEES AND A
COMPLETED MASTER ENTRY FORM. All events are timed finals.

DEADLINE: Entries must be received by Friday, January 2, 2015. (IE priority deadline is
December 26, 2014). No late entries or phone entries will be accepted
AWARDS:
Scoring will be to 6 places for individual and for relay events.
Layered Ribbons: 1st – 6th place for Individual Events and Relays
Single Ribbons: 7th – 12th place for Individual Events
High Point awards will be given for each girl and boy in each age group. No team awards will
be given, but team scores will be posted.
WARM-UPS: 13 and older swimmers – 9:00 – 9:50AM
12 and under swimmers – 9:50 – 10:20AM
Diving is allowed only in designated sprint lanes at the discretion of the Meet Referee.

Visiting officials are welcome and encouraged to help. Please bring current certification and
USA Swimming registration cards. Certifications will be verified by the Meet Referee before
deck assignments are made.
DIRECTIONS TO YAKIMA LIONS POOL: From I-82 (either direction) take the Yakima
Avenue exit go west on Yakima Avenue until you reach 5th Avenue - turn left - get to Pine turn right. Lions Pool is located in front of Davis High School. Ample parking is available on
the street and in the parking lot by the tennis courts. Additional parking is available on the west
side of the school.
