W: www.abmreading.org Abu Bakr Islamic Centre Madrassa 330 Oxford Road Reading RG30 1AF Insha’ Allah we intend to start our weekend Madrassa from Saturday 10th May 2014. Since starting the weekday Madrassah in February we are trying our utmost to create truly professional environment where your child can learn the Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic – Insha’ Alllah. May Allah (SWT) give us success with this endeavour. All staff have undergone a DBS check and we have an established system for safeguarding our students. The weekend Madrassah will run from 10:00 till 13:15 on both Saturday and Sunday. As with the weekday Madrassah we will be issuing all students with an Islamic Studies textbook, workbook, planner, book bag and Qaidah. The cost of these items is included in the registration fee. In subsequent years where there is no registration fee you will need to purchase items, the cost of which we will advise in due course. More information will be provided on the information evening which Insha’ Allah will be on Thursday 08 May 2014 at 19:30. Classes will be limited by age due to our desire to provide education for all young people (due to difficulty with many students being unable to commit to 5 days in the weekly Madrassah) and as such we can only enroll students if they are aged 10 – 16 with a limit for class sizes of around 20. We are now inviting parents to apply for a place for their child(ren) and would ask you to read the regulations overleaf, and then complete the attached form. To submit your application you must come to the Abu Bakr Islamic Centre from 10:00 on Saturday 03 May 2014. NOTE: In order for us to accept your application you must bring the following with you: • • The correct fee (in cash only) A form of ID for the child you are registering (eg birth certificate or passport) • Proof of the your current address on the day. Term Dates We will be running our introductory term through till Sunday 20 July 2014 (11 sessions). Term dates for September onwards will broadly follow schools in the Reading area with a 35 week term. Fee schedule The Madrassa will have the same teaching facilities as you would expect from your child’s school. Registration Fee: £100 Tuition Fee: £66 for our introductory term To ease administration the £100 Registration Fee and the entire tuition fees of £66 are due with the application form. We have tried our utmost to keep fees to a minimum. In the event of unexpected hardship or extenuating circumstances please do contact us on [email protected] Madrassa Rules and Regulations The following rules and regulations have been drawn up to ensure your child receives the best form of Islamic education from the Madrassa and develops the true spirit of Islam. 1. The normal tuition time of the Madrassa is Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am to 1.15pm. 2. Students arriving more than 5 minutes late without a valid excuse and/or letter from a parent will be given a detention, and if repeated further action will be taken. 3. The Madrassa is unable to supervise children who arrive before the start times of the classes and those who remain after the class has ended, therefore parents are requested to make sure their children arrive on time and that they are picked up on time. 4. No child will be allowed to leave the Madrasa early unless there is a valid reason, which should be explained in the form of a letter to the Head Teacher. 5. The Madrasa has a detention policy, which applies to all children. If a child is given detention, then a letter will be sent home with the child to notify the parent/guardian in advance. 6. If your child does not complete his/her homework or does not adhere to the disciplinary code, then this may result in detention for the child. On such occasions parents must be co-operative. 7. From time to time, parents will receive letters pertaining to their child and the Madrasa. These will be sent home with their children. Some of these will require the parents to sign and return to the Madrasa Teacher as acknowledgement of the receipt. 8. Parents must make themselves’ available for parent’s evenings and any other meetings that the Head Teacher may request pertaining to their child. 9. Parents are not allowed into the Madrassa during class times. Any queries should be via email to [email protected] or in person at Reception during opening hours. 10. All boys must be dressed in either Shalwar Khamees or Arabian Khamees of any colour and must wear appropriate head covering prior to coming into the Madrasa. Boys must not wear any jewellery unless in accordance to Islamic law. If after a verbal warning, the boy continues to wear the jewellery than the Madrasa has the right to confiscate it. 11. Girls must wear long dresses in accordance with Hijab. 12. If you withdraw your child at any point that no refund of tuition fees already paid will be made. 13. Non-payment of fees or fines will result in your child being excluded from the Madrassa. The Abu Bakr Islamic Centre reserves the right to modify these rules and regulations at any time.
