He maintains a private practice in oral medicine, is a consultant oral pathologist to Q-scan Radiology Clinics, and Head of the Oral Oncology Research Program at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research, where he undertakes clinical and translational research into head and neck cancer early detection, molecular diagnostics, and imaging. Professor Farah has published over ninety clinical and scientific articles including five book chapters, and has attracted approximately $5 million in competitive research funding.
