Power Requirements:
ALK and NALK are
battery operated. The
ALW and NALW are remote
power operated exit alarms.
They require an external power
source of 12VDC to 24VDC or
24VAC at .25 amp. and a power
transfer (part no. EPT-2 or EPT-5)
or a two conductor power
transfer hinge.

Remove hex dogging parts, if installed.
Cut new hinge filler to the same length as the old hinge filler,
if required.

For ALK, NALK, ALW, NALW: Follow steps 8 through 16
to install a touchbar monitoring switch.
Cylinder hole must be
toward the touchbar.
Do not cut this end.

already installed on the device,
skip to step #16.

If you have a bracket with a slotted hole, route the wires through the
top slotted hole and under the rear bracket towards the hinge side.

Do not pinch wires and ensure they are not coming in
contact with any moving parts.

If you have a bracket with 2 holes,
route the wire straight down and
under the rear bracket towards
the hinge side.
Rear Bracket
Adjust the screw as necessary to
activate the switch. However, make
sure there is not hard contact.

Check operation: Pushing the touchbar should cause a
switch closure across the the wires.

Optional for ALW, NALW, ALK, NALK: Connect optional
WH-495 wiring harness if you have chosen either the remote
activation or remote arm/disarm options or both.

For FL or non-dogging devices only: Install
two #6-23 screws and tighten securely.
Place dogging cam in “Load” position. Push in the
direction of the arrow until it “clicks” into position.

Align the lock cylinder hole and the LED with the LED lens
and assemble alarm chassis in hinge filler.

Insert lock cylinder
with the cylinder
core away from
the touchbar end. Route
the cylinder core through
the blocking ring, the
hinge filler and chassis
holes. Secure with the
cylinder nut.

For ALK and NALK: Install battery holder with tape.

For ALK and NALK: Plug battery into battery connector
and place into battery holder.

For devices with dogging, place the device in the
dogged position by depressing the touchbar and
rotating the dogging cam counter-clockwise.

Connect the 2 wires from the alarm module
to the 2 wires from the touchbar monitoring
switch. Red to red, black to blue.
Push
Do not pinch wires.

Solder and tape or electrically
protect each of the connections.

After connecting the alarm module to the
touch bar monitoring switch, insert the
hinge filler assembly into the device as
shown.

Install decals.
Mount device on door per
installation instructions
furnished with device.

Power supply should be 24VDC, regulated and filtered
Precision Hardware PS 160-6 or PS 161-6.
The wire run should be as short as possible and free from
major electrical noise sources.
