Detection of Ovarian and Testicular tissue
AMH can be used to detect ovarian and testicular tissue in many species. Unlike Testosterone and
Oestradiol there is no need to carry out a stimulation test so AMH is a much more convenient method of
testing for both owner and veterinarian.
For horses under three years old AMH can also be used for Rig testing
as a single sample test.
Detection of Granulosa Cell Tumour
AMH is an excellent alternative to Inhibin for the detection of Granulosa Cell
Tumours in mares. Inhibin is only available from a laboratory in America and
therefore a time delay may be experienced with reporting of results. AMH is
run at our Cambridge laboratory once a week or more often if required.
Sample requirement: 1ml of serum.
