Military Bridging: Most bridging assets have been eliminated from the Army. Assets are particularly lacking in New England. 2. Special Needs in Domestic Operations: • Search and Rescue (SAR) Package – Requirement for improved capability to support SAR during Support to Civil Authorities missions to include • Updated Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) systems to support MEDEVAC missions and support of Civil Authorities • Internal aircraft communications • Rescue Hoist Ground Support Equipment Modernized Helicopter Fleet: • Internal Auxiliary Fuel Tank System (IAFTS) – Longer flight distances required. • Display Unit (Heads Up Display) Upgrades - Upgrades for daytime HUD capability. • Blade Folding Kits – Essential for deployment preparation and hangaring for adverse weather conditions in facilities with limited space.
