He welcomed the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to hold a donor conference to support Egypt. Health milestone in spotlight HEALTH Minister Sadiq Al Shehabi received a World Health Organisation (WHO) delegation and discussed Bahrain’s success in achieving “zero iodine deficiency” status, becoming the first country in the eastern Mediterranean region and the Middle East to be free of iodine deficiency disorders. The team included regional adviser on nutrition in WHO’s eastern Mediterranean office Dr Ayoub Al Jawaldeh and regional co-ordinator for the International Council for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders Professor Ezzaldine Hussein. The Health Ministry’s nutrition department head Dr Nadia Ghareeb was present. BAHRAIN has drawn up plans to ensure labour market stability in the medium and long-term. Labour Minister and Supreme Council for Vocational Training chairman Jameel Humaidan said part of the plans pertains to vocational guidance for young job-seekers to assist them in choosing their professional future and ensure it matches their creativity and potential.
