Newsletter - Happy Days Holiday Homes

September 2014
Dear Caravan Owner
All of us at Happy Days Holiday Homes would like to thank you for your continued support throughout the 2014 season.
To those of you who have joined us as new owners this year, it has been a pleasure to welcome you, we hope you have enjoyed
your first year as part of the Happy Days Holiday Homes community!
Today we are now proud to be in the position where Happy Days North and South are running together as a completely
independent site, with a wonderful hard working team at your disposal. To get where we are today has taken time and hard work,
we are very appreciative for your patience.
In the reception Karen has been joined by Mavis and on site Barry has been joined by Martyn; by now most of you should be
familiar with the team. We are very proud of our team who work very hard to ensure the best environment for you to enjoy your
holiday.
The business now has a new identity, with new logos on our signs and a new website, we are looking forward to building upon
these early changes in the following seasons.
North & South Sites
New Reception
In March after a huge team effort we were just about ready to start
the season with our new reception open and ready for the first
arrivals.
We are all very happy with this new working environment and have
found that by being in view of both sites and adjoined to Arches
Pub, we feel very connected with every aspect of the business.
Electricity supply
On site we have had extensive work carried out on the electricity
supply for both North and South sites. The benefit to you as the
customer is that in times of inclement weather the electricity
should be less likely to trip.
New caravan plots
In order to keep developing the site and being in a position to
meet our customer needs and demands, we are also in the
process of developing certain areas of both sites. These new plots
will be in a variety of locations on both north and south and some
will offer private parking spaces. These new plots benefit from a
32amp supply, the highest you will find in the area.
If you are interested in purchasing a new caravan to go on one of
these plots please contact Karen or Mavis and they will be happy
to assist you.
We are very mindful that whilst developing, sometimes
inconvenience is caused to some of our owners, for those of you
who may have been affected we offer our sincere apologies and
thank you for your patience. We hope you all understand that all
developments are in the interests of the site as a whole.
New fencing
As a result of some of your feedback, following the site meeting in
Arches Pub when the site opened, new fencing has been installed
in various locations on South.
Blooming Barrels
The flower planters you see around the site and outside Arches
Pub have been filled and looked after once again by Yvonne and
Rod. Their efforts are greatly appreciated by us and we hope you
enjoy their flowers as much as we do!

contacted on: 01754 762271 or 07721 890666
Arches Pub
Running Arches was a new venture for Charles and Alison. Whilst
renovating the conservatory and changing its use to a Reception
for the site, there was also extensive work carried out in the pub.
Arches has benefited from new decoration, flooring and the
installation of a disabled loo and baby change area. There are
clear separate areas for all the family to enjoy, with an inside
garden room to either watch the TV, let the kids play or watch the
world outside go by.
Sky TV and BT Sports have been installed from the beginning of
the season so you can continue to watch your favourite
programmes and sporting events when you are away from home.
Many of you will have joined us to watch the world cup matches
on our big screens!
Arches customers have also been able to benefit from FREE WIFI
and from the FREE excellent entertainment provided nightly
throughout weekends and nightly in the peak weeks.
Party Nights
As usual caravan owners will be invited to an annual party night
for them to get together and have a fun evening. Due to the
capacity of Arches Pub we might have to run party night over
several evenings to accommodate the number of owners.
The planned dates and entertainment for these evenings are:
1) Friday 3rd October
TRIBUTE ENTERTAINMENT
2) Saturday 4th October TRIBUTE ENTERTAINMENT
Tickets will be allocated to fill up Friday night first & then the Saturday.
Pub Terrace
Outside Arches to the side of the new reception, the pub terrace
area has had a picket fence erected making this area separate
from the sales caravans and providing added safety for any
children.
Beer Garden
The beer garden seating area at the back of the Arches has
benefited from some tlc and has had new bark screening to
shelter customers and new planters and flowers to fill the
sun-trap. The beer garden now benefits from a site entrance on
the North site, so customers can cut through straight into the pub;
also suitable for wheel chair access.
Alan and Sue have taken the helm and managed the pub
and the Arches team; we are very proud of their commitment to
the pub, the work they have done in setting up and throughout the
season so far.
Arcade
Pat and Brian have continued to provide hours of fun for the kids
and those young at heart!
Essential Services
Our onsite plumber AJ and electrician Wayne and their teams
should be familiar figures with some of you by now. They have
worked exceptionally well this year with the added workload of
redevelopment work. We are looking forward to continuing
working with them throughout the winter and into the 2015
season.
We would kindly recommend that all plumbing and electrical work
is undertaken by our site plumber and electrician only as they are
fully qualified and insured.
Hog Roast Lincolnshire will be at Arches Pub for each party
night providing a delicious hog roast, dessert and cheese board
for your enjoyment.
If you should need a vegetarian option please let reception
know when you collect your tickets.
Each caravan can have up to 6 party tickets, however, for
catering purposes please only take the number of tickets you
intend to use. Please notify us if your attending numbers are to
change by 01/10/14. For any tickets taken and not used and
we haven't been notified of non attendance by the 01/10/14
there will be a £10 charge per ticket added to your 2015 site
fee balance.
Tickets will be available to collect from the reception from: 1st
September.
Holding a party night in Arches is a new experience for us all, we
are looking forward to a night filled with great entertainment
and welcoming Hog Roast Lincolnshire!

Customer Q & A forum:
Caravan owners who rent out their caravan
Do I have to tip HDHH staff for their help, gas bottle
deliveries or grass cutting?
NO, we offer these services for free to our customers, it is not
expected that you should tip our staff when they provide
assistance or deliver gas to your caravan. Should you choose to
do so, that is completely discretionary but is NOT expected; we
have asked our staff to refuse any tips.
Please note we have been instructed by our plumber that it is a
legal requirement that if you hire/loan your caravan for less than a
28 day period you should display valid gas and electric test
certificates.
For the 2015 season HDHH will organise and pay for these tests
as they are included in your annual site fee. We do ask that you
comply with the law and display the certificates we will provide if
you plan to rent out your caravan.
Will HDHH fix my leaky tap/faulty electric socket inside
my caravan?
Our on-site staff are not qualified to carryout such work, they
are responsible for the maintenance of everything on-site but
not for fixing anything required internally in your caravan. This is
your responsibility as the caravan owner. We can assist you by
providing the details of our on-site plumber and/or electrician
and even arrange for them to visit you at a mutually convenient
time.
For your convenience our site plumber and electrician’s contact
details are below:
AJH Plumber (Alan)
Keys
Please make sure our reception has a spare key to your caravan,
this enables us to give access to the plumber and electrician to
conduct the relevant tests on your caravan.
Gas and electric tests are now
included in my site fee, Why?
As our owners will no longer receive 6 free Happy Days Club
membership cards we wanted to compensate our caravan owners
for this loss and thought the best way would be to include all
electricity use and your gas and electric tests within the 2015 site
fee.
Should our owners wish they can still buy standard membership
cards for the 2015 season on the door in Happy Days Club.

Waste Bins
Advertising on our new website
There are occasionally incidents of large items appearing in the
general waste bins. Please use common sense and only place
bagged waste in these bins. Items such as mattresses fill the
entire bin and cause mayhem. If you need help removing or
disposing of a large item, please contact us at our reception.
Caravan owners are reminded that if they wish to advertise their
own caravan for rental throughout the season, they may do so on
the HDHH new website, in addition to any independent advertising
you may wish to organise.
Final Note:
Thank you for choosing to spend your valuable holiday time with us this year,
we are looking forward to our next independent season and hope you continue to join us on this journey.
We look forward to welcoming you back in March 2015.
Kindest regards to you all
Charles, Alison & Beatrice
and the
