About ISO 22301 Lead Auditor Training
BCM 5000 teaches the principles and practices of independent auditing
of a BCMS and guides the student through the audit process using a
balance of formal instruction and practical case study activities. The
focus of the course content is on the requirements of ISO 22301 and
how these requirements are implemented in a Business Continuity
Management System.
BCM 5000 provides students with the skills and knowledge to conduct
and lead effective business continuity management system audits
in accordance with the requirements of ISO 22301: 2012, ISO 19011:
2012, and ISO 17022: 2012.

The course audience also includes those with auditing experience who are interested in adding the auditing
of BCM Systems (BCMS) to their audit capabilities for conducting internal and/or external audits as well as

• Study of the essential components of a Business Continuity Management System

Course Description
BCM 5000: SO 22301 Lead Auditor Training is a 5-day instructor-led course. The course isconstructed around
a case study and each activity is applied to the case study as we move through the course. There are more
than 25 auditing activities as well as multi-media that provide practice applying and gain in an understanding
of the requirements of ISO 22301 and BCMS auditing practices.
Also included are small “quizzes” taken during the course after each section. The purpose of the quizzes is
to help attendees measure what they know and what requires further study.
Course materials include: Templates for “standards” compliance, Comparison of BS 25999 and ISO 22301 in
excel paper and electronic format, and an ISO 22301 Assessment Checklist.

Accreditation
BCM 5000: ISO 22301 Lead Auditor Training is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
as part of ICOR’s Certificate Program.
Upon completion of BCM 5000 and passing the exam with a rate of 80% or higher, attendees will earn an
ANSI Accredited certificate as an ISO 22301 Lead Auditor.
ISO 22301 Lead Auditor Training was written by Business Continuity Services, Inc., (BCS), a consulting
firm specialising in business continuity management, crisis management & communications, emergency
management, continuity of government operations (COOP), information & communication technology
management/disaster recovery, and data center management.
Course Schedule
It is 5 days program and a 4 hour exam will be conducted on day 5, consisting of multiple choice questions that
examine the understanding of Business Continuity and short answer questions that examine understanding
of auditing practices as defined in ISO 22301, ISO 19011 and ISO 17022.

world ranging from conducting the Business Impact Analysis, building awareness and training programs, writing
plans, and running exercises.
