• ROUTE 1 (page 3): travels through Atwell, Success, Jandakot and Piara Waters suburbs.
• ROUTE 2 (page 4): travels through Gosnells, Huntingdale, Thornlie and Canning Vale suburbs.
• ROUTE 3 (page 5): travels through Armadale, Darling Downs, Byford and Oakford suburbs.
Please refer to the following pages for maps and timings. We aim to have students on the bus for no longer than 75
minutes, erring towards the hour mark.
The cost is $2.10 per ride when a book of 20 tickets is purchased (total $42) or $2.70 per ride individually. Tickets must
be purchased in advance from the College Student Reception. Bus drivers do not handle cash.
BUS TICKET POLICY
The contracted bus services are closely monitored to ensure that students who do not pay for their bus tickets are
identified and parents notified.
The following procedure will be adopted regarding non-payment:
1. A letter will be sent to parents/guardians detailing outstanding payments.
2. Seven working days will be extended for payment to be made.
3. A charge of $4.00 per bus ride will be raised to cover administrative costs of the outstanding bus rides.
4. The College has the right to withdraw the service should outstanding fees remain unpaid.
These bus services, which are contracted out and subsidised by the College, provide a vital service to the College
community. We request your assistance in keeping this valued service a viable initiative.
ROUTE CHANGES
College Bus Routes 1, 2 and 3 are reviewed annually to ensure they are supporting the majority of our student
population and remaining viable. Families asking for a change need to complete and submit a Route Change Application
form by the last day of Term 1 to the College Bus Administrator via the Administration Office. The form is available from
any Administration Office or online at www.carey.wa.edu.au under the ‘Services’, ‘Bus Information’ menu.

TRANSPERTH BUS 518
This is a regular public bus service that deviates via the College. Please refer to the route map on page 6, view the
Transperth website or phone Transperth for specific route information.
TRANSPERTH BUS 519
This is a regular public bus service that deviates via the College. For more information on these routes view page 6 or
log on to www.transperth.wa.gov.au and look under the ‘Timetables + Maps’ menu. Click on ‘Bus Timetables’ and scroll
down to ‘School Carey Baptist College’.
SMARTRIDERS
All students need to obtain a Smartrider card to travel on Transperth buses.
Primary School parents need to purchase a SmartRider card from participating outlets. View
information on the Transperth website under ‘Where can I purchase a SmartRider?’.
Secondary School students new to the College should visit the Student Reception Office to request a
consent form.

The WA Public Transport Authority generously provide two ‘Orange School Bus’ services, known as ‘Forrestdale South’
and ‘Forrestdale North’ for Carey students (and Forrestdale Primary School students) only.
• FORRESTDALE SOUTH: travels through Oakford, Forrestdale and Piara Waters.
• FORRESTDALE NORTH: travels through Brookdale, Seville Grove and Champion Lakes.
Additionally, families living in Brookdale, Forrestdale or Seville Grove may be eligible for a conveyance allowance.
To find out more or apply, log on to www.schoolbuses.wa.gov.au and look under the ‘Parents’ tab, ‘accept’ the terms and
conditions, select ‘mainstream’. You will need to provide both parent and child/s D.O.B. Dont forget to hit the ‘submit’
button at the end.
Registration: Required for Every Student Passenger
Every student travelling on either the Transperth #518 or #519, contracted Routes 1, 2 or 3 or on the Forrestdale
North or South services must be registered. This is important as we communicate with registered families in the
event of an emergency, regarding a delayed bus and potential bus route changes etc.

Code of Conduct
Released in August 2014, the Code of Conduct for Travelling on School Buses is:
• is a set of behaviour guidelines for all student passengers to follow when travelling on buses
• forms the basis of specific bus rules for the bus company and College to manage behaviour on their
buses
• provides a clear process so that any disruption to a student’s journey caused by the actions of another
passenger will be dealt with fairly and quickly by the College in partnership with the bus company
• includes the rights and responsibilities of student passengers, parent/guardians and the bus drivers
We request that Parent/Guardians are familiar with this document and they discuss with their children.
