Adjustable parameters – Other bodybuilder functions
Introduction
Introduction
To limit this list of adjustable parameters, only parameters considered to be of use to
bodybuilders are described. For full details of the current parameters for a specific
vehicle, contact an authorised Scania workshop. The parameters are stored in the vehicle's various control units, and can be adjusted using SDP3 (Scania Diagnos & Programmer 3) and SDP3 for bodybuilders.
This document is a comprehensive list. Which of these parameters and settings are
available in a specific vehicle depends on how the vehicle is equipped and the vehicle
specification.
Apart from the adjustable parameters, there are also parameters which describe the
physical specification of the vehicle in a SOPS file (Scania On-board Product Specification). This type of parameter may need to be updated when a conversion is carried out.
Further information about SOPS is contained in the document Reprogramming control units under General information.

Introduction
SDP3 for bodybuilders
SDP3 for bodybuilders enables bodybuilders to check and adapt the parameters described in this document.
SDP3 for bodybuilders is a limited version of SDP3, which is used by Scania workshops. The tool is limited to only deal with parameters for bodybuilders.

Description of adjustable parameters
Each parameter is identified through its parameter designation in the heading. Each
parameter designation is concluded with the system to which the parameter is allocated, indicated in brackets.

Selecting the EXT switch (BWE)
Indicates which type of switch is used to enable remote control.
• Without – There is no EXT switch.
• 2 positions – Switch with 2 positions.
• Spring-loaded – Spring-loaded switch.
Basic setting: Spring-loaded.
CAN communication with bodywork (BWE)
With this parameter, you can determine whether the external CAN bus for communication with the bodywork should be used or not.
More information on the CAN messages available can be found in the CAN bodywork
interface document under Electrical system.
• With – External CAN interface is activated.
• Without – External CAN interface is deactivated.
Basic setting: Without.

Adaptation to bodywork gauges
Gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, engine
load, pressure in service brake circuits 1 and 2, transmission oil
temperature, retarder oil temperature and trailer weight.
Here you have the option to set seven pairs of values to adapt the signal which the
bodywork control unit can transmit to any external gauge. These values only apply
to external analogue gauges e.g. an indicator in an operation unit on the frame.
Each pair of values comprises an x value and a y value. These values must be adjusted so that they match the gauge on which the signal will be displayed.
Use the x values to adjust the signal to the gauge to be used. For linear gauges, it is
a good idea to have a relatively uniform distance between the x values. For non-linear
gauges, the x values should follow the curve of the gauge, which should be provided
in the data sheet for the gauge.
If the operating range is limited, it is possible to place an extra point inside this range
to obtain better resolution there.
Use y values to adjust the signal so that the gauge gives a correct reading. If the duty
cycle (duty cycle) is indicated in the data sheet for the gauge you can use these values, otherwise you must continue testing.
Remember that all seven pairs of values must have a set value. In addition, these values must be in either a rising or falling sequence.
