2015 TA2, GT2, RACE CAR - Howe Racing Enterprises

12/2014
2015 TA2, GT2,
RACE CAR
The Howe road race car was developed to fill a niche for a
real race car with a recognizable look, low operating cost
and maximum performance. The Howe design has been refined and proven with over 80 cars in the European Camaro
Cup / V8 Thunder Car Series since 2010 and nearly 50 in
the USA since 2011. This 2015 version is the culmination
of development with an all star list of drivers including Pete
Halsmer, Cameron Lawrence, Adam Andretti, Tommy Archer,
Nic Jonsson, Tommy Kendall, Wally Dallenbach and Jan
Magnussen. For the U.S. market the cars are configured to
Trans Am 2, GT2 or open specs.
Key Features
Body – All three brands of American muscle cars are represented with a choice of Generation 5 Camaro, Mustang
and Challenger look bodies. The bodies are all fiberglass
with a poly propylene nose available on the Camaro. The
body dimensions are altered from stock only enough to fit a
common chassis. Each model has a common 104” wheelbase and 64” center of tread width. The windows are poly
carbonate with a replaceable tear off film applied to the
windshield. Any chassis can be re branded by changing the
bumper supports and body. Engine may be interchanged for
club racing but are to be matching to meet SCCA rules.

Wheels and Tires – 15” diameter x 10” wide, 5x5 painted
steel Basset racing wheels are standard. A series spec
aluminum wheel is also available but all wheels have the
same minimum weight of 18lbs. TA2 spec Hoosier tires are
available at current market price.
Digital data logging systems choices are AIM or Race Tech Digital. You can
choose to install your seat or we can install one for your.
Steering – The rugged Woodward rack and
pinion and servo allow the steering quickness and feel to be tailored to your preference. A Driven steering wheel is standard.
Cooling – The Howe aluminum radiator
includes a surge tank to improve efficiency.
There are independent coolers for engine
oil, steering and transmission fluid. The rear
end has a mechanical pump and chassis
mounted cooler ducted to an inlet on the
right B-pillar.

Engine – The chassis will accept most V-8 racing engines but if you intend on
competing in the TA2 class the choices are restricted to a limited number of
suppliers with the engine make matching the body style. With the TA2 legal
restrictor engines are limited to 475 with a 6800 rpm limit. For open racing
the restrictor may be removed and rpm limit raised and engines may be interchanged. Unrestricted option range in power from 525 to near 700 hp. The
engines use a dry sump oil system with the 10 quart aluminum tank.
Schwanke LS3, EFI dry sump engine pictured. Engines
from Katech, Wegner, Ilmor and DSS are also available.
Each body type is desgined to maintain a factory idenƟty while fiƫng a common chassis.
Exhaust – The exhaust system includes Howe ceramic coated headers and a muffler to keep the sound
below 100 db at 100 feet. The entire underside of the
aluminum interior is protected with high temperature
Poron insulation.
Brakes – The standard master cylinders are Howe
G3’s with remote fluid reservoirs. Calipers options are
available from Wilwood, Performance Friction and
Stop Tech. Front brake rotors by rule are 12.19” with
a floated hat type mount. The rear rotors are 11.75” in
either solid or floated mount. High output SRS Brake
