Convenient user authentication
across your print fleet
Equitrac print management software leverages
user authentication to enable organizations to
gain maximum control and management of their
printing while increasing document security and
supporting user mobility.
Equitrac ID Card Readers are designed and built
by Nuance to make authentication convenient,
whether a user is printing at an MFP or using a
single-function printer. Nearly all proximity and
contactless card technologies are supported,
including the popular HID, Indala, MiFare, Legic
and MagStripe card types.
Multi-format ID Card Reader
The latest line of Equitrac ID Card Readers
includes a Multi-Format option that can read
both 13.56 MHz and 125 KHz frequencies.
With the new multi-format
Equitrac ID Card Reader, organizations
can support multiple card types using
a single reader—saving money and
adding user convenience.
This reader is designed to support the modern
organization that needs to support diverse
security standards and handle organizational
changes like acquisitions where two card
types are in use. With the Multi-Format ID
Card Reader, users with varying card types will
have full access to the printer or MFP with the
convenience of a single reader.
Why use Equitrac Card Readers?
Equitrac ID Card Readers are designed
specifically to work with Equitrac print
management software. They have been rigorously
tested on Equitrac embedded software across all
supported devices from Canon, Fuji Xerox, HP,
Lexmark, Ricoh, Samsung, Sharp and Xerox, as
well as with the Nuance ID Controller for use with
any single function printer.

Notes:
1. Host interface authentication and encryption not available in USB HID Keyboard emulation mode.
2. For a list of compatible Low Frequency (LF) and High Frequency (HF) Transponders, please refer to the Equitrac ID Card Reader Product Specs Datasheet.
3. Transponder is supported by reader hardware but special firmware may be required to recover a unique ID or other data.
Programmed samples of customer cards must be submitted for evaluation, contact [email protected].
4. Range varies with transponder type and is based on the use of standard identification and financial (ISO 7811) sized cards with readers mounted
to a non-metallic surface. Use of alternate transponder formats (fobs, stickers, mechanical keys with smart heads, etc.) or mounting to a metallic
surface results in a reduction of the published read range.
5. Access to encrypted transponder data requires customization of the reader via creation and download of secure configuration files.
For more information contact [email protected].
6. Response time is dependent on the reader configuration and number of card systems in use. Response to first presentation of a given transponder
occurs within 600 ms, response time for subsequent presentations of the similar transponder types is reduced.
