Michael Rutherford CSX Assistant Vice President Industrial Products Michael Rutherford is the Assistant Vice President of Industrial Products for CSX Transportation. CSX Transportation is a principal operating company of CSX Corporation. CSX Corporation, based in Jacksonville, Florida, is one of the nation’s leading transportation companies, providing rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck transload services. Michael joined CSX in 2008 with extensive sales and marketing experience at global consumer products companies. He has held various leadership positions at CSX. He first contributed to Intermodal growth strategies and initiatives, including the National Gateway project and the launch of the UMAX interline program. As Director of Market Intelligence and Strategy, he then helped lead CSX’s efforts to more closely align commercial activities with customer service and market insights. In his current role, Michael is responsible for $1.4 billion in CSX annual revenue generated by the Metals and Forest Products Business Units. Michael holds a Bachelors of Science degree in International Economics from Georgetown University, from which he graduated with honors, and a Masters of International Economics and Management from SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Michael is married to Francesca with whom he has two children.
