LEARN TO SKATE Learn to Skate Classes Quality instruction uses the United States Figure Skating (USFS) guidelines and standards. Professional instructors conduct classes in a positive atmosphere, making learning to skate a fun experience for figure skaters and hockey players of all ages. Our program provides a solid foundation for those skaters who wish to advance into competitive programs through either the Shaker Figure Skating Club (SFSC) or the Shaker Youth Hockey Association (SYHA). Shaker Youth Hockey Learn, compete and have fun with a variety of hockey programs available for beginner to expert. Mighty Mites: Ages 4-6, learn basic hockey and skating skills such as forward skating, backward skating, stopping and turning. Required equipment includes: hockey helmet with cage, gloves, hockey skates, elbow pads, shoulder pads, hockey pants, and shin pads. Snowplow Sam 3 and Preliminary Hockey Development (PHD) is required for participation.
