Shari Lisa Piré

Shari Piré is an associate in Skadden’s Paris office who concentrates primarily on crossborder mergers and acquisitions. In the U.S. arena and on the international front, Ms. Piré
has represented clients operating in a variety of business sectors, including banking, energy,
pharmaceutical, telecommunications and manufacturing. She has also regularly represented
investment managers of issuers in private offerings of various types of funds and fund structures, including U.S. and international hedge funds and private equity funds.
Ms. Piré spent three years in Skadden’s New York office prior to coming to Paris. Her

Chine Telecom (a Congolese mobile operator) to France Télécom S.A. (FRA);
• Rakuten (JPN) in its approximately $247 million acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding shares of PriceMinister (FRA);
• Orascom Telecom S.A.E. (EGY), a publicly listed telecommunications operator, in the
restructuring of its partnership with France Télécom S.A. (FRA) in connection with
MobiNil (an Egyptian wireless telecommunications company);
• Toshiba Corporation (JPN) in its estimated €4.5 billion bid to acquire Areva T&D
Holding S.A. (FRA), Areva’s electricity transmission and distribution subsidiary;
• the investment manager of Ritchie Capital (CYM), a hedge fund (formerly valued at
$3.5 billion), in connection with the sales of several portfolio investments;
• the general partner of a hedge fund (CYM) in connection with the sale of certain interests
to Aquiline Capital Partners (USA);
• the investment manager of a hedge fund in connection with private placements; and
• the general partner of a hedge fund in connection with formation of global partnerships
(CYM, VGB, IRL) established to operate a worldwide hedge fund administration business.
Ms. Piré has assisted in teaching negotiation seminars to students at France’s prestigious
Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC).
